Question: how do businesses grow on X/Twitter?

Am I supposed just to post stuff and hope that algorithms recommend it to a person who becomes interested? And again, and again, hopefully to the same person, until they follow? Doesn't look like a sound strategy.

Sorry for the low effort post. It's just so strange there are no groups for people to gather (only few test ones, I guess), no common feeds, nothing to condense around. Where to start?

P.S. Except ads.

Here is what I learned from X after having 14k impression in December:
. If you post consistently, the algorithm will show its magic
. Try posting with images, it gives a boost to your impressions
. If you want to make a sale then along with your impressions your offer is really important (Good Offer = low price + high value)

That's all keep doing this you'll get there :)

What does consistencybmesn here? Multiple times a day? Once per day?

      1. 1

Its up to you! I do one post per day and engage with lots of other people 😀

Thank you! Good luck to you too.

I started actually using Twitter this past December 2023, and many times it feels like you are just screaming into the void --specially if under 100 followers.

However, I see a couple of patterns that seem to work.

    • Posting everyday seems to increase your engagement. If you make enough noise for long enough, someone will hear.

    • Engaging with things that interest you and making real connections seems to be a great way to push yourself forward.

    • People engages with images/videos way more than with anything else.

This is only what I have experienced so far!

I am not OP, but wanted to say thanks anyway

Thank you, I like the point about making real connections. There must be a subgroup of people interested in the topic. Going to look for them.

Let me know if you find it!

Hi man! I'm going to tell you my point of view as a marketer, what I've seen that worked for others and also the ones that I personally helped.

You cant not have a strategy, that would be suicide. Lets make it very simple and organize it in only a few steps. Im gonna divide it in two parts.

    1. Your brand. You need to escape competition, and the best way possible is by creating a sensational brand behind your business (In order to be value by itself). There is when you must take into account stuff like porpuse, value addition, values, hero journey, story telling/doing, character flaws, personality, voice, tone, and much more. Also all emotional triggers related will be here.

    2. Your strategy. Ok, first you must do your homework. Its boring, but a good market research is required... Target audience, competitors, value addition, users perception, needs, influence groups, communities, dreams and pains, etc. After that, you decide your positioning (branding), your visual identity, your presence, your marketing strategies...

Finally, you can concentrate on content marketing, being constant, keeping with your brand image and more. There are thousands of thinks to do related to marketing and branding specifically, so don't think about leaving it to chance, because in that way you have 99.99% chances of not making it.

It can sound like a lot but its not more than a 2 days work. Keep it up!

Can you please give some examples?

Hi! That's an extensive response, thank you very much. Branding and brand language in particular is something to work on.
Currently my brand image is just how I see the company in general. But it has to overlap with the audience of the platform. Users on X seem to engage in inspiring and provocative things.

Build connections with the right people. The fastest way to do this is to connect with Influencers in your space.

This can be done through interviews and creating case studies around their strategy if it fits your niche.

If they enjoy your content, their followers will too, sort of like Figmas influencer growth strategy

Well said. Going to look for influencers who talk with our audience. Thank you for the input.

No pain, no gain. Engage with influencers, start conversations, and dare to take risks - you'll be surprised what kind of growth your business can achieve

    also interested in this.
The only thing I noticed so far (just started posting recently) is that posting with pictures gives slightly more impressions.

Over the past three months, I've dedicated effort to growing my presence on X, gaining a considerable following of 375 at the time of this post.
Despite actively engaging with many users, this endeavor hasn't translated into leads for my product. This experience has brought to light a critical strategic oversight that often goes unmentioned: the significance of aligning your audience on platforms like X/Twitter with the target market of your product.
Merely expanding your follower count or impressiom is inconsequential if those followers don't align with your expected customer base.
This is especially true unless your aim is to cultivate a personal brand rather than generate leads for a product or business.

Thank you, great notice. There is always a prior probability to find your audience on a particular platform to be estimated.

  8. 1

Yes, that's it. You need to provide value posts again and again.

I haven't got any leads from X yet, I started 3 months ago.

Oh, that's both straightforward and tricky. Thank you, have to think on communication style, I guess.
