Quick MVP vs Pre-sign up!

Do you guys think launching a quick MVP could be better than testing an idea with a pre-sign-up landing page?
Really curious to read what your take is on this. Pieter Levels recommends this, but others say to stick to the presales.

Start with pre-sign-up landing page and once you see signups coming in, build MVP in parallel (but make sure to talk to presigned up users 1:1 to know their sentiment and requirement).

That's an awesome way of structuring it. Thank you!

It all depends on the business model. We bought an Airbnb clone for the MVP.

You could always try both: build a pre-launch landing page with a waitlist and then build an MVP to send to those signups to see if it’s worth going forward.

Thank you for sharing that idea. Appreciate it

If a pre-signUp landing page manages to convey what the idea is, what's the problem and value proposition then I'd say this is a good starting point as it takes less time. If the product tends to be a bit complex to be explained in a sentence on a landing page, then the MVP wins, or how else would you gauge interest?

I've seen both work in these 2 specific cases.

I am not sure how else you would, but I appreciate you sharing that. Thank you

    Depends on the idea
