Quick PDF proposal to on-board early adopters to eCommerce SaaS

Hi everyone,

Working on WebMedic.app as a SaaS helping eCommerce businesses find out what’s stopping them from growing online and what they can do about it.

Currently on-boarding early adopters through a PDF by sharing it with potential users.

Appreciate your feedback on the slides: https://secure.webmedic.com/JKSpzT

Happy to answer any questions.

Thank you

    Hi Faisal,

First off, I own an online multivendor marketplace built on Wordpress/Woocommerce. I read through the slides. It definitely sounded interesting. The slides themselves are fine, although the entire presentation is a bit long.

I decided to seek more information, there was no clickable link directly to your website, instead it brought me to your action item which was a WhatsApp chat. But that's not what I wanted. I wanted to see your website. The reason I wanted to see your website is that I thought the slides should have been unnecessary, as all of that information should have been concisely presented on your website.

So I manually typed in your website address to check it out. What I found was similar to the slides. I read it with interest, as it seems very relevant to me as a marketplace owner, and I do not have this capability to easily measure these KPIs.

This is just me, but if software doesn't have a pricing page, I close the tab and never return. Why would you hide your pricing? The only 2 reasons are, (1) it is either too expensive (ie designed for enterprise customers) or (2), see #1.

So I would have left. Can you imaging if my ecommerce stores didn't post prices? I cannot even imagine a single sale.

But to help you, I clicked on "Grow Your Ecommerce Business" CTA. I filled out the 4 question survey, which brought me to another CTA "Get Your Action Plan." I didn't click "Get Your Action Plan" because who knows, maybe this is yet another tedious step. How many hoops are you expecting potential customers to jump through before they get the information they want? This is now hiding pricing behind TWO steps at least, not just one. It makes it even more likely I'm going to close your site and never come back.

Personally, my suggestion is that you have your pricing clear and public on or with a link on your landing page. Should you not want it clear and public for whatever reason, at least have your only CTA button actually do something to capture customer contact information. I believe that the survey is something you need to do after you've captured the customer's contact info, not before.

I'm also confused about the purpose of the pdf. Since that information is on the web site, what is your intended purpose of having the slides?

    Kind regards,

      Hi antarctian,

Thank you for your detailed feedback, it's helpful to see it from your point of view.

Curious on what other information did you want to know from the PDF?

Currently the website and the PDF are actually talking about 2 different things.

The website being incomplete, was meant to be for acquiring leads by offering an actionable guide -- but then the plan changed to focus more on acquiring more early adopters for the dashboard I am building.

Noted your feedback on the website and will work on it again soon to make it more informational and easier to get the information you want -- thank you!

The PDF is meant to "sell" (its free for now) the dashboard for early adopters by showing on a high level the value of the app to capture their interest to sign up.

Btw -- the dashboard is meant for WooCommerce sellers, would you like to try it out for free? it wasn't meant for multi-vendor sellers but we can see how will that look like for you if you would like.

      Thank you

Thank you. Just remember I am one man, one bit of feedback so you have to take in multiple sources of feedback in order to have a good picture. I don't know if what I say are typical of what a larger pool of people would say.

If I am hearing you correctly, the purpose of the pdf then is to help acquire more early adopters by showing the value of the app. My opinion is that I don't even want to see a pdf, your landing page should be succinct enough to relay this information. If you cannot keep the landing page short, rely on a "Learn more" button that takes the viewer to another page with a bit more detail. Don't overdo it.

My ecommerce site is live but still a bit rough around the edges, I'm actually working on it right now as we speak. Yes, I would enjoy trying it out in the near future.
