Quick tip on improving copy if you suck at writing copy.

As I'm reworking all the marketing copy on my website and I want to share how non-copywriters can improve on their copywriting abilities.

I'm not a good writer but here's my simple process. It makes it easy for editing and improvements, which is always a drag for me.

  1. ๐Ÿ“ Write an outline of what you want (I actually use Omnigraffle and layout the page)
  2. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธWhen done, walk away from the work for about half the day
  3. ๐Ÿ“ Come back, work on edits
  4. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธWalk away and come back and work on edits the next day
  5. ๐Ÿ“ Run edits in http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ with the Grammarly plugin enabled on Google Chrome or Firefox.
  6. ๐Ÿ“ Have duplicate text copy in Hemingway, one for reference and one for the actual edits
  7. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ปRepeat process for all copy BEFORE you put it on the website.
  8. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ปSpend a morning or night migrating all the new content to your CMS (for me it's React code...)
