I looked at your product — it looks really nice and I’m definitely going to use it.
What stood out to me is that the product phase is already solved—the hard part now is that distribution feels like a completely different skill. Most founders underestimate this transition and keep iterating on product when the real bottleneck has already moved. Whisperly feels like it's exactly at that inflection point where usage quality matters less than getting into the daily workflow of writers on Mac.
I completely agree with that statement, 100%. To be honest, I missed the moment to start posting 'build in public' and, basically, I thought about distribution way too late. It’ll be a big and important lesson for me in the future. But it’s fine—I’ll try to make up for it right here, right now!)
I actually think the interesting part isn't that distribution started late.
It's deciding what Whisperly now has to become for distribution to work.
I've got a couple of thoughts on that strategic decision, but I don't think I can explain the reasoning properly in a thread.
