You know what is missing from a lot of SEO content out there?
Practicality.
So much SEO content is all hypothetical. Suppose I had a pet food supply company and was catering to people aged 50 and up with seven or more cats…blah, blah, blah.
That’s all fine and dandy to showcase what a particular keyword research tool can do, or an utterly hypothetical content strategy – but we do not work in hypotheticals.
We don’t ‘suppose’ anything – we have businesses that we are trying to grow. We face real challenges, and you better believe that SEO can be challenging. With billions of web pages already indexed, and thousands more each day Google can only get more competitive.
It is possible to rank though. I firmly believe that, and I believe that ranking can make a game-changing difference in your business.
So I’m putting my money where my mouth is.
I bought ‘thegreenalternatives.com’ in an attempt to build out a resource I’ve been looking for: eco-friendly alternatives to the products I have all over my home (and often going into my trash can). This is a niche space but it is becoming more crowded as the climate becomes a top issue.
It sounds like a great place to put some SEO knowledge to the test.
I’m going to document what I do every step of the way and I want to show you what works with SEO, and what doesn’t. From the basics, (picking the domain, setting the site up for success, etc) to more advanced topics (such as reporting, attribution, and link building), all my wins (and fails) will be documented and shared.
I'm building the site either way, but think of this post as the MVP. Drop a comment if you'd be interested in following along and I'll set up an email distro to send my updates and tips your way. If this grows, I'll set up a way for folks to subscribe as I keep making progress.
I’m sure I’ll learn quite a bit from this, so I’m looking forward to taking this journey together!
Wow this got so many more folks interested than I thought, and I can't wait to get started and share my journey with you!

Hi, I'm doing and adopted best practices of seo in my campaign but it's not giving the result as expected. What's ur suggestion on this. https://blockerx.net. this is my site and i have published 80 articles with high volume and low competition keywords in last 3 months. Every week am getting around 25k impression with the CTR of 2%. But the potential is more than 1lac impression.
What's your suggestion on this. Please send me your process steps and suggestions to chandra@atmana.us email.
Thank you
Happy to!
Without access to your analytics I can only offer hypothetical advice, but after reviewing your website here are a few thoughts:
You mention getting 25k impressions per week and a 2% CTR - that is pretty solid, do you have pages that are ranking highly that could use a tweak to their title or meta description so they are clicked on more?
Following that, I would review your pages that are close to ranking on page one (position is 20-40) to update their content to be more competitive so that they have a chance at ranking higher, this will help you be more visible in search results
You mention having published 80 posts, but how many of these are relevant to your target audience? High volume and low competition is not helpful if these are not valuable questions to go after. In this series I am building, I plan on teaching how I focus on actual questions my target customers ask and let that guide my decision on content, not just leaving it up to a keyword research tool. For ex. the "top 10 psychologists in" blog posts seem out of place to me, and also are not organized in a way that would maximize their usefulness (like if you had a state by state directory).
There is page about the product or the company, this hurts your ability to build trust
I'm a grammar nut and am noticing some grammatical errors and awkward phrasing throughout the site, I'd recommend working with a good copywriter to review this as it detracts from the user experience which will indirectly impact SEO
i see this was 4 months ago. now it seems you are really nailing it with the SEO. that is amazing traffic and most of it organic as per similarweb.com
Count me in.
First question: does the domain itself HAVE to include keywords?
As a naming agency, my partner and I get questions all the time about domains, and we also generally advise people NOT to name their products/companies something super descriptive (i.e. something full of keywords) because it's not ownable as a brand.
Most names aren't available as a clean .com anyway, so for the domain, we recommend an appended .com (e.g. www.NewCoDescriptor.com) or in some cases, an alt TLD (e.g. www.NewCo.Descriptor).
What are your thoughts on this, from an SEO perspective?
Great you're in! The first update will probably be sent out tomorrow.
Ah wonderful question. From an SEO perspective, it matters much less than it used to. Much like using the keyword a certain number of times on a page, or in the meta keywords tag, Google is phasing out the 'easy wins' in favor of content quality.
The more useful and usable a website is, the better its chances for ranking regardless of its domain.
I chose 'thegreenalternatives.com' because I don't have a business for this and I'm not trying to build a brand, if I did I'd probably pick something much more fun and creative :)
Pickleball is becoming an immensely popular emerging sport. It is among several “tennis” games practiced on a shorter court with a uniquely shaped “pickle” ball and particularly shaped paddles used as rackets. An annual competition all around the world is believed to involve over five million participants of various experience levels including famous pickleball players. This rising interest has immensely benefited professional pickleball, developing several of the best pickleball players in the world. Here we will discuss the top pickleball players. I have built 4 successful websites in the last six yrs.
Building websites and optimizing it as a programmer or blogger has been any easier, basically there are certain rules one ought to follow to build a ranking website on Google and other search engines, I have had bad days were my organic search traffic went down to 6k page views due to some mistakes I did thinking that was best for my website but it wasn't.
I have summerized based on my experience what to take serious expecially for building a website and SEO from scratch.
Use Rank Math Pro and learn how to use it for schema.
Use SSL from the start, most hosts have free Let’s Encrypt SSL.
Choose a fast hosting provider and solid WordPress themes (Cloudways + Astra).
4 Use post name permalink structure in WordPress under Settings > Permalinks.
Create content around keywords from tools like Google Autocomplete.
Learn about image optimization,
internal links, lightweight plugins, OG images.
Add publish dates to blog articles to make content look fresh and increase CTRs.
Use multimedia – whether it be videos, infographics, or audio clips – people love them.
Set up Google Search Console and use it to track rankings, CTR, impressions, etc.
Make your WordPress site load fast (Cloudways, WP Rocket, Perfmatters, TinyPNG).
These steps I used to rank my websites on google first page and finally SEO wasn't easier until I started using these SEO website it basically has all the tools you need for long term SEO journey click https link ://tinyurl.com/2p8wmfdt
Hoping to see the update 3-6 months from now. Good luck.
Thanks!
Would love to follow along

Hi Tyler,
This sounds like an awesome endeavor, I hope you succeed! Where will you be posting your updates? It would be even interesting to be able to follow this real time. I'm interested in building tools for this, in casuaris.co. If you want to schedule a call, I'm happy to help you, and create something to measure your ROI.
Cheers,
Arjen
Thanks Arjen, I'm going to set up an email distro so I can add you if you'd like!
Not in the market for any software, I've built my own SEO platform to manage my strategy though thanks for offering!
Sure, put me on the list. Is your software available somewhere for me to try out?
OK, I'll bite - I'm at the stage where I have a bunch of domain names that are sitting idle, and a bunch of ideas on what I'd like to do with each of those, and a rough idea of how I'm planning to go from zero to 'something' - but SEO will definitely play a big role in whatever I do - so I'm interested in your approach to 'SEO from zero', including what works and what doesn't.
Ah, I'll need your email to keep you updated!
If you don't want to share yours here you can shoot me an email at tscionti@centori.io
Great you're in! I just created a video that I'll send out (probably tomorrow) and you'll get updates from there!
