I just launched for the first time on Product Hunt! While it's super exciting I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.

Some quick tips
Isnt getting friends to upvote something the algorithm doesn't look favourable upon (especially if they sign up just to vote on your page)?
Yep make sure they're long time users of product hunt. I don't think it punishes you just doesn't count them.
I have seen companies with 1000+ upvotes lose to 600 due to that.
That's great advice. specially the friends part. I completely disregarded that.

I launch https://versoly.com/ this Wednesday so keep an eye out and see how I do.

All about page views and difficulty of ranking.
Wednesday and Thursday are the best. Wednesday get more views in total and Thursday is easier normally.
Weekends have low views.
Mondays are hard and have lower views than other weekdays
Tuesdays are very hard with less views than Wednesday.
Fridays have low views.
This is all generalised, some weeks may differ.
