(Re)building web app, but this time in public. Feel free to follow

I'm going to rebuild my mvp BrowseGenres.com. The mvp version is the result of a 6 months web development diploma course. This version went live this summer 2020 and I built it using the php micro framework Fat-Free. Using this framework was very helpful since there are practically no moduls you can use and you have to write everything on your own.

So, I sat down again, re-thought the whole process, re-designed it and made some decisions.

First, the most sense I see is building it as PWA. IF you use Spotify, chances are high you use it on your phone.

Second, fat-free framework was good in learning, writing and understanding basic code structures but the brighter future I definitely see in using well known, well tested framework like Laravel, backed up by a big community. And, I want to combine it with Vue.js.

Third, one mistake I don't want to make again is to lock myself in a room for months while building it. That's why I decided to build it in public now, and this is the first commit. I will mainly post on Twitter for marketing purposes obviously and the product page here on IH will see updates only when a milestone is being reached.

I would love having the time building it during the day. But one has to pay bills and that's why I need to follow rules of a full-time job. And, both Laravel and Vue.js are new territory to me, so in case you follow please don't expect big moves in short time.

So here it is,

Last note, probably interesting, it's the reason why I came up with this idea.

With 140,418 minutes this year spent on Spotify listening music I consider myself a heavy user. I love Spotify, but still, having pretty much all of the music that exists out there, there are days where I just don't know what to listen. And Spotify's browse/search function only works IF YOU KNOW THE GENRE you are looking for. But they just don't offer it so I came up with this first approach.
