Hi IndieHackers,
I have Re-Imagined Hacker News and built https://hn.boxpiper.com/.
The intent is to build HN for the users who may not find the current design of HN appropriate and missing all the greatness of HN.
Stories are presented in a Story Mode, Top stories are presented at the top for Instant Consumption, Thumbnails are provided along with every story to increase the relevance and Comments are presented in a readable way rather than the nested way.
The transition from the world of Text, Links and Orange to Box Piper Hacker News for this decade. https://hn.boxpiper.com/.
Twitter bot posting top stories daily. https://twitter.com/boxpiperapp
Roast it.
The logo on each story is too prominent. I didn't read 1 headline!
If submitters don't upload an image or you can't pull it in from the linked site, you can still keep your logo, but make it much smaller.
It's a good concept, but maybe consider positioning it differently - not related to HN.
HN just like craigslist is much more than an outdated design - its the community! I can see you getting some users from there - but you have to share it with them and most will stick to what they have now.
Sharing this on producthunt would be gr8 - but again you need to find your own audience to succeed.
Thanks, mate for the suggestions. Much appreciated.
It's a humble attempt to present HN in a better way, later will mature it into a Tech Content Aggregator model. HN is good to start and test the waters.
Hope to see you on PH this Sunday, 25th April 2021.
