I was working for 1.4 years in a software development company as a backend developer & I forget my major knowledge about frontend frameworks like (React & Svelte), Right now I'm re-learning react at the same time I'm bulding the app.
From 2016 to 2021 I worked as a backend developer. After that I started my own business. It was very hard moving from being a focused contributor to a generalist.
Now I have to do backend dev, front end dev, devops, customer support, sales, copy writing and marketing. I must admit my backend code is a lot worse than it was.
You lost some backend level but you learned a lot of new things like costumer support, marketing, ect.... for my is a good deal :)
it is pretty much normal that happens for all of us
Do you have a story like that ?
I'm in a similar boat. I used to work on ASP.net apps and messed around with Angular.js and Ember back in the day. Recently picked it back up and been exploring several frameworks and have settled on Next.js + React. All I can say is WOW, things have changed.
Since you are using React, I recommend ChakraUI. I've found it extremely useful and easy to implement in my project.
I’m using ChakraUI I really love it 🙃
It's an exciting time to start learning frontend again. Which framework did you decide to learn and use for your product?
Yes I think is a good time for learn, I’m building the app with Reactjs.
I’m building an app that help to call similar third part apis with the same request
For example (Notion, Google sheet, Airtable)
Cool! React is my framework of choice too.
It sounds like a cool product idea. Good luck on your journey!
Thanks, I was afraid to anyone like it :)
