Reaching 100+ Users on Flowscriipt, after a product launch fail

I just hit 100 Users on my product, Flowscriipt!

In a week we had:

3 more Sales 🛒
90+ New Users 👥
800+New Visitors 🌐
4k views 📈

I started building Flowscriipt as a way to scratch my itch, to help Webflow developers add functionality to their sites without code. Building the scripts and tools was half the work, but marketing was really a challenge.

I tried a lot of stuff:

Cold Emails ✉️
Sharing videos 🎥
Posting weekly on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter & Linkedin 📱
Changing Copy, Discounts, and even limited offer

After a month and a half, I had less than 10 users on the platform, with 8 of them being beta testers and only 2 paying customers.

Then, I received some valuable advice from a beta tester on Reddit: change it from free to access to sign up only, so users would have to sign up to use the platform.

I gave it a shot and built more tools, one of them being ChatGPT Prompts for Webflow!

It resulted in 13 extra users signing up. I was excited to see more users who weren't beta testers 😁😅

So, I did what any indie hacker would do—I launched a new tool targeted at Webflow Developers, Webflow Components. Unfortunately, this one didn't go as planned:

1 sign-up 📝
No sale 🚫💰

I went back to the drawing board, determined to learn why it failed. I noticed some patterns:

It wasn't a dire need at the moment for users.
There wasn't a clear problem to solve.
The copy didn't explain the value proposition properly.

Taking these lessons to heart, and just a week later, I came across Timothy Ricks's discovery of DOM elements in Webflow. It was truly amazing to see what you can do in Webflow with it.

Seeing many webflow devs are interested in this, I realized I had to build a tool and ship it fast before others created a similar tool.

So, I did just that and launched it this Monday.

But I didn't just launch one but two!

SVG to DOM: Convert more than 10,000 SVG characters into DOM elements, change the path stroke, and fill in any color of your choice. (https://www.flowscriipt.com/svg-to-dom-webflow)
DOM Elements: Premade DOM elements you can copy and paste right on Webflow and customize natively. (Tables, SVGs, range, hidden input, dates, times, etc) (https://www.flowscriipt.com/webflow-dom-elements)

The result? It drove a ton of users to the platform—over 80+ users signed up, with 3 more becoming paying customers!

I guess after hitting 100 users I can be accepted into the indie-hackers family.

Though I've not yet reached 100 Paying Users, but soon I will 😁😁😊
