React devs: Do you draw out your component structure?

To all the React / Frontend devs out there:

Before you start building an app, do you draw out like UI where the components should go? So like a webpage has a nav component, login component etc.

I would be drawing that out and building my components from there, kind of like a class diagram in traditional programming.

Am I overthinking this?

    I love working with design,
Even when I'm working on a side project or anything, I'll actually hire UX/UI to create a mockup or initial version. You wouldn't believe what a difference it makes in clarity and ease of use for your users. Usually, in less than $100 I can get something which is amazing for a jumpstart.
These people have spent thousands of hours so that they can produce in a few hours something which is better than you can do in an unlimited amount of time.
I always feel that an hour of planning (design, architecture, component mapping etc...) saves hours if not days of coding.
    Cheers,
    Jonathan
PS Don't even get me started on the advantages of TDD ;-)

This resonates strongly with me. I've spent hours grappling with UX/UI design and it's such a bad ROI. How do you find good UX/UI designers? Would love some referrals if you have them. I'm working on an eCommerce product.

        Hi Alex,
I usually work with my "usual suspects", local freelancers or ex-employees that I hire on a project basis. But I've had really good experiences hiring freelancers on Upwork. There's a bit of an art to hiring there, if you'd like to chat about it, feel free to book a meeting, I'd be happy to help!

If you have no designs, definitely want to sketch something out.

If you have designs already, but are just learning react, it can't hurt to sketch out your plan to componentize them.

I've been writing react every day for like 5 years, so I just start coding-- if I have a design.
