React vs Wordpress for a Community Website
Hi Friends,
Trying to understand which format is best for constructing a good looking community website.
Currently, I am looking at React and wordpress as my two leading options but also wanted to see what else is out there.
I am trying to figure it out from both functionality, design and cost perspective.
Would really appreciate some insights.

React is a javascript framework for creating web applications, which requires development knowledge to create a website with. If you have that knowledge, and the time to build it out, you can build almost anything with react (and a backend server).
Wordpress is a content management system which enables you to install themes and plugins to make your website look and act the way you want. In almost all cases, you do not need any write any code yourself when you use something like wordpress. It's easy to get off the ground with Wordpress, but you're reliant on the proper plugins to exist that give your community website the functionality you desire.
Do you have the programming ability to develop your own community website? If you do not, I would recommend some sort of platform like https://tribe.so/ to get it up as quick as possible. You won't have to build anything yourself, and an established platform that focuses on community website features will probably have all of the functionality you need.
