Rebel Book Club Dashboard March 2020

Rebel Book Club Dashboard for March 2020

317 Applications

88 New Members

118 Cancellations

£12,400 Revenue

We've run RBC for 59 months. This was the first month that more members have cancelled than joined.

As the crisis kicked-off in second week of March we saw our daily cancellation rate double then triple to a peak of 10 a day by the end of the month. Many of our members are freelancers and professionals whose jobs have gone.

The Upside

Lots of great PR from media curious to hear about how book clubs are moving online.

This organic press + hard work from the team to move our meets online (our first event on the 31/3 was attended by 300 members) and run a free 14 day reading challenge with 200 participants has helped keep our members connected and engaged.

"I’ve been attending lots of online events since the lockdown and last nights RBC was epic, by far the most well thought and well executed I’ve seen!"

Mid March we put our 'SOFA' membership central in our marketing (50 have joined since).

  • Value for members + creative responses
