Received the last paycheck from my employer. Taking a leap of faith!

I submitted my resignation in public, 1.5 months ago, after contemplating on Twitter since my employer was stern about bringing people back to the office.

After working remotely for 2 years, I found it difficult to stick to working from 9-5 on my day job & build my startup on the side after the job.

This was mostly because my day job was quite boring & I easily lost energy returning back from office.

At the same time, I didn't enjoy my day job either as it was an outdated enterprise product that was not so exciting.

While I formally submitted my resignation on May 6th, I received the last paycheck from my employer yesterday

Now I'm currently focused on 2 products.

One is Famewall which collects & embeds testimonials on customizable walls & the other is Mailboat which sprung out of personal frustration in not being able to send emails specific to SaaS workflows

I have accumulated savings for over 2 years but did face opposition from my family as in the place where I come from, people love to brag about high-paying jobs & settling down with fancy cars/houses rather than risking careers with startups.

I'm entirely on my own now as a solo founder. So it's definitely exciting & scary at the same time as there's no longer a safety net & the only way out is to get to ramen profitability soon :)

Goutham, I would definitely focus on gaining momentum sooner rather than later. You took a big risk, and that's great, but to be successful (unless you're already rolling in cash) you're going to want to start seeing money coming in ASAP. It looks like you're already well on your way, good luck!

I agree with you on that Ryan. Getting to ramen profitability is actually my highest priority. It's also a good North star metric as I'd only be able to achieve that if I made a good product solving a market demand :)

Thank you for the kind wishes, Ryan :D

Good luck, Goutham! Looking over your products, for sure you'll get enough traffic and revenue in no time. Nice that you have a safety net, but I hope you won't needed. Everyone likes to support everyone only when they see results. It's in our nature. So, show them results! All the best!

good luck good luck GOOD LUCK! I am rooting for you. I relate with the family opposition - I feel like it just comes from culture gap. That's okay though, you believe in yourself - all that matters.

    Kill it out there! 💪

Thank you so much for the kind words, Allison :)

Yeah, we just gotta accept the culture gap. Sometimes it comes from a place of care too :)
