Recommend courses for self-taught developer

Hey y'all! I've taught myself full stack javascript (Node & Vue) over the past four years and consider myself fairly competent, but have always suffered from a nagging sense that I need to bring myself in line with more traditional development best practice. I know how to make things work, but have no idea whether or not my process is good/bad etc.

Anyone know of some good online courses to help me refine my knowledge?

    Hey Daniel,
my recommendation will be biased but give it a try, you can try without an account
It's an interactive JavaScript course: https://learnjavascript.online filled with real life examples and projects

That's great Daniel for sharing your dilemma, this may also help other learners who might be facing similar issue.

For what i can see that you need some traditional foundation of Computer science domain to get acquainted or confirm the ftheories ,frameworks and standards that are globally accepted and practised upon .

So MOOC's are the best option. However it depends what is the trime frame that you want to acheive this goal.

I just dont want you to follow me or some one else. Instead test and what works the best for you and folks like you .

Coursesity https://coursesity.com/ is the best alternative. Best collection of any courses and MOOC's . Search , compare , reviews and learn with fellow learners as well.

Do let me know if that solves your concern . Would be happy to help or connect the dots with the right person.

    Happy learning!!!

    Hi Daniel,
Kudos for wanting to improve in your craft, that's what makes the difference between a great and mediocre developer.
My best advice is the hardest and simplest - contribute to a (large/active) open-source program. You'll be exposed to high-standard code, strict code-reviews and friendly mentors with amazing expertise.
If you want to read a book, a great recommendation is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3735293-clean-code.
I always run this as a book club for my devs in any company that I am the CTO.
    Cheers

How about putting that knowledge into a real-time project? it will give you challenges and bumpy ride but in the end you will feel more confident and you will have a working knowledge,

My Recent experience, completed 15 hours of training on angular with the following code along and doing all exercises but at the end of I wasn't feeling much confident in the technology, got an idea of building coronavirus tracker app and started building using angular and at the end of that app, I now have a good working knowledge, currently, I am working on two more fun projects on angular just to learn more about it.
