I run an web app in the email marketing space. We are in a good groove with how much time my co-founder and I spend on the biz, but we're starting to hit a ceiling on growth with the time we have to put toward it. We do have some revenue to play with (we could spend roughly $5k/mo) so we're just figuring out the right way to use it.
Anyone indies out there at our scale who have worked with a marketing or growth agency or freelancers that they'd recommend? Or just advice in general on starting to outsource some marketing?
All agencies over promise and underdeliver.
True, but not a disqualifier. Even if they underdeliver on their promise, I don't need miracles I just need someone that can deliver a CAC that's within a fairly generous range.
Good luck with that. A pipe dream. You want to outsource 60% of your business. "Sales". Real founders know that is not realistic. If a founder can't sell manually "at first", all they are creating is a hobby, not a business.
Very true.
What have you tried from a marketing perspective? Have you seen traction with any marketing channels?
What's your average deal size?
I know of an agency that fits your budget for seo that charges 3.5-6K a month and they'd be pretty good for a long term marketing investment.
Average user pays $100/mo, LTV around $1,000. Most users we get come from organic search, next from coverage we get due to free tools we offer, then content. Yeah, let me know who they are and I'll check 'em out.
