Red is Back (Day 564)

Thanks to Teresa Topaz, the Burns Brian May Red Special guitar is fixed. The ground was loose, and it's now soldered solid and can scream from the amps now!

The Red has very special features not seen in other guitars. First of all, the outer knob is actually for volume, and the inner knob is for master tone. Second, the knobs are flipped from the conventional placements.

Each of the three pickups has an on/off switch as well as a phase switch. If the pickups are out of phase, it can eliminate the humming sounds, but the signal would be lower. I am yet to play with all the different combinations.

I learned a lot from chatting with Teresa, both in guitar knowledge and some exciting stories about Teresa's musician career. She played with Steve Vai--my guitar hero! Here's the link to her YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt0qj2ihV6k&list=PLJ5ZXEMbshvGI7lWuYn2xEEeC3IhokMRO&index=1

And check out her songs on Spotify, too! Here's the album cover of her latest work.
