Reddit is not just a growth channel… it compounds over time

I’ve been using Reddit to get users for my product, but what surprised me the most isn’t the short-term results.

It’s the long-term effect.

At first, I was just jumping into relevant threads, helping people, and sometimes mentioning my product when it made sense.

I thought of it as a simple acquisition channel.

But after a few weeks, something interesting started happening.

Some of those threads started ranking on Google.

People started searching for the product name.

Traffic kept coming… even on threads I had posted on days or weeks before.

For example, in 28 days:

  • 457 SEO clicks

  • 377 of them were just people Googling the name after seeing it on Reddit

  • ~$0 spent, just ~30min/day engaging

And I’m not even touching those old threads anymore.

That’s when it clicked for me.

Reddit is not just “post → get users”.

It’s more like a loop:

engage → get indexed → get discovered → build brand searches → improve SEO → repeat

And now with LLMs pulling answers from Reddit, those same discussions can keep bringing visibility in ways you don’t fully control.

It’s slower at the beginning, but it stacks.

I’m still early, but it’s already changing how I think about distribution.

Do you see Reddit this way, or do you still treat it as a short-term channel?
