Redesigned landing page improved conversion rate

A couple of weeks ago, I redesigned my landing page:
https://makesumo.com/

The previous landing page was super simple and only had a signup form and hero image. I spent 3 days making a new landing page and shipped the new one.

Result?

  • conversion rate increased from 7.3% to 11.6%
  • in total, I got 568 signups in about a month.

Key takeaways:

  • Copywriting matters (always go for features over benefits. Don't say "Fully responsive design", say "design looks lovely on any device".
  • Visuals are important. Don't tell, show the audience. Visually represent your product so that people don't even have to read your text.

You can check the landing here: https://makesumo.com/ (almost done with the product itself)
Also, you can find me on Twitter where I sometimes share UI/UX tips:
