Hey Hackers, I am about 6 months into developing my video editing app.
I had an initial landing page just to have something up. You can see it here https://storycreatorapp.com/. I believe to speak to my users the landing page needs to hit a few points.
So I recently sketched out a new concept. The main points I am trying to hit are the following.
First I want to invite the users to understand what the product is with the tagline, then a demo of the product right after.
As the user scrolls the first thing they see is there are several templates they can choose from to get started.
If they want to learn more and keep scrolling. They see what it's like to edit within the app (still need an illustration for this). Right below this showcases after they're done editing they can share the content with the world (still need an illustration for this).
Below this is a few testimonials for social proof. Then right below that is a call to action to get them on a list so I can update them. Plus give them a free template only for people on the list.
Here is a link to the PDF:

I would love some feedback on the general structure. I would like to know personally if this would compel you to use it, if not then why.
Cheers!
It looks really cool already. I'm actually searching for tools like this. When are you planning to launch?
Consider:
All the best @storycreator
I love these ideas. The new landing page definitely will have a showcase of the UI.
I like the before/after idea. That's smart! Definitely a good AD idea. I love the use cases as well. For now, I am just going to collect some testimonials, and hopefully, get names that are recognizable.
Launching in a week, it's available in beta if you're interested in walking through with me. I have a calendly link you can set up a time to hop on a quick call https://calendly.com/storycreator/15min I want to identify the core problems you may have and why you would use a tool like this.
Also, you can find me on IG documenting my journey https://www.instagram.com/michaelaubry/ or catch me on Twitter https://twitter.com/michaelaubry I'd love to connect and learn from you.
I do love your current landing page, but I also love the new one. The new one I must say is clearly a bit more spread out - the 'Start with a template' button has way more space above/below than it needs and if you're trying to showcase the templates as part of the background it's not clear to me.
Under the 'Effortless editing' and 'Share with the world' blocks of text I'd add more buttons in order to 'Find out more' or 'Get started', to try and convert the user at every possible opportunity.
I'm actually developing a product that could help you get feedback on your designs a little easier called uireview.net, it might be worth checking out for things like this in the future :)
This is great feedback. I would agree with that. I am thinking about formatting it a bit differently and possibly adding some actual clickable templates similar to what's on the current home page https://storycreatorapp.com/. Letting the user see some of the templates then clicking on one they like.
Again appreciate the feedback. What do you think about the wording?
Idk they both look great. Can you split test?
Thanks. However, I think the one that is live now looks ok but the messaging isn't really doing any selling. It's kind of dull and doesn't show any value props or create any emotion. I've taken the same font and fun style. My goal with the new landing page is to create emotion and speak the customers' language.
I like the idea of split testing. I can do that with a few different versions and messages.
Hey, looks good!
I would consider adding a short video in the top section - as a potential customer I would like to see basic features and how the product actually works.
Thanks for your feedback. I 100% agree. I recorded a video for when it goes live. Unfortunately, Sketch doesn't support video/gifs without using a plugin or Adobe InDesign. So I just left out any animated things for now :)
How does the messaging feel to you? Are the value props clear?

Ahh, that's good to know. Thankfully that will be a thing of the past when the new page is up. My goal is to get it up by mid-week.
