Refer-a-friend

I would love to integrate a refer-a-friend program via mail or website. Does anyone know a simple and cheap solution for this? ReferralCandy for example is not for our company profitable. Looking forward hearing from you.
I would check out the guys at Refmonkey.com they are usually pretty great at supporting their users
