We've been working on DID.app's landing page to help visitors understand what DID does and what DID offers.
A few commented on the old design that they didn't 'get it'.
As a visitor now, do you 'get it'?
Can you describe what DID does back to me?
Many thanks in advance!
@richardesigns caveat to my answer: I'm reading it as a potential end-user, though the website is geared towards devs (rightfully so)
The video seems to skip over the marked improvement in the actual sign-in process. It's implied by the Trusted device, but what's not made perfectly clear (to a non-dev) is what that login experience would look like (even though, there basically wouldn't be a login experience at all once you have the locally-stored private key).
One things Grammarly does well in its ads is it shows frustrated users struggling with something, only to have their service save the day. Let me know if you'd like to storyboard a couple of explainer videos
Hi Ovi, this is very encouraging. Thank you for your insights. Before this version of the landing page everyone was seriously confused and thought we only did magic links so the fact you're explaining back to me about device authentication and keys is fantastic!
However, fully take on board your feedback regarding the video. I put that together in 3 days from scratch as quickly as I could. Room for improvement of course. Please feel free to email me regarding your offer to storyboard: richard@did.app
We have in the pipeline to create some demo videos which may help to answer the question of what the login experience looks like. Of course, the easiest way to find that out is to login to DID.app which we reasoned was the best way to demo.
May I ask, did you try to login and see how it worked?
The explainer video certainly helps, but I think some more edits to the page overall could help even more.
Take the headline, for example. It does say what the product does, but it’s too broad. I would refine it to get convey your value proposition. What’s the biggest benefit to your target audience? What pain point are you solving? How is it better than other authentication options?
Thanks Sean. Glad you like the video. We made it with VideoScribe in one day! Nothing quite so fun as bootstrapping.
Your right I think. The benefit to our audience (website owners and developers) is that DID offers a plug and play authentication solution that is really easy to install.
Watch now as we try to answer your points with more content on the website!
Thanks again for your insights.
Is there anything we can help you with?
Richard, does DID stand for 'Decentralized Identity'? If yes, do you want to add something like own your account or identity in the digital world? You can check blockstack.org for reference.
DID comes from the concept of Digital Identity. Our audience is the website owner. There are huge benefits for users to having a digital identity rather than many disaparate ones but the end user isn't our audience for this communication.
