Reimagining social media optimized for meaning, not engagement

I am building Facts after realizing social platforms solve the wrong problem.

They optimize for engagement. We optimize for understanding.

Problem: You discover something useful (a bug fix, a research paper, a free resource). Sharing it feels like performance—building a brand instead of helping. So you don't share it.

Solution: Share naturally. Our AI evaluates your actual interests (from connected socials and online infos) and delivers your message to people who genuinely need it. No feeds. No followers. No noise.

Think of it as: routing information based on real need instead of artificial engagement, and building a shared knowledge base.

Early stage, just launched the waitlist. Looking for feedback from people tired of social media theater.

Feedback welcome. Facts.social

This idea really stands out. The “share naturally” concept solves what so many people quietly feel , social media shouldn’t feel like performance. Curious how you plan to get early adopters to trust the AI routing system?

Great question! That is why to ease the cost of adoption the approach is to enable you to already get this filtered feed / cards from your socials. So that we already have content to show you, and it will also enable you to judge the relevance of the propositions.

The challenge will then rely more on targeted messages, where you as a user would like to specifically reach out to some user group or someone else. This is why we have to detect those cases to make them more deterministic.

That’s a really well-thought-out approach, and it shows you’re designing with trust in mind , not just engagement metrics. Leveraging existing social data to ease adoption is smart. I’ve seen how powerful that kind of relevance-first strategy can be for community-driven growth. Would love to follow your journey as you build this out. 🚀

Hmmm question, it is about users' intentions right? How to regulate and evaluate the "genuineness"?

What you means by share naturally?

    1. 1

Well that is still an open question. We want to remove incentives to publish not genuine content by having no or few public metrics to optimize. So no profile, no likes. The only incentive is to give to people something useful, so that someone actually receives it.

And for sharing naturally: removing the friction to share, even a very small piece of information. Even if it seems too small, or useless, it might actually be good for someone. You just dump the facts and we handle the rest.

Am I understanding correctly that you’re going to share this content only through your app, similar to X or Threads? Could you briefly explain how it works?

The goal is to reduce the friction to share. So either you just share a thought or an info out loud, we take care of formalizing it for the content, or you can create your own curated content if you want the old way.

On the receiver side, you don't have a feed, but rather a collection of knowledge in the form of cards that you can swipe to collect.

Love this approach. I’ve seen the same issue on platforms like Reddit , people hesitate to share real insights because everything feels like performance. Building around genuine relevance instead of reach could be a real game-changer.

Yes, and we loose so much information that someone could benefit. I really see this as helping people focus, while enabling as much info as possible to be shared.

      1. 1

Right ,it’s about enabling focus and authenticity at the same time. If we get that balance right, it’ll naturally attract engagement without forcing it. Appreciate the thoughtful input, both of you 👏

I resonate with the tangent taken. Engagement v/s understanding and value delivery. An individual however is likely to have multiple interests; I would be interested to see how this is factored in this tool. Like say, Music, health matters, academics and professional etc

So there are multiple things that are to be considered. First, how do you gather those preferences. The current direction is that using your existing socials, you can already build a very strong profile of the user. But we would also need to refine it on some feedback and with some potential direct conversations (but as less as possible).

Then for the matching, the idea is that with this text based profile (not binary), we analyze content and calculate the relevance of each piece of content. But it would be evaluated also on other metrics, like time, or localization of the info.

Once we have the content that would fit you, depending on the importance we evaluate when you should know, so that we always minimize the amount of info you get that are not essential. Of course this would be tunable, if you want more content to discover new things then you could just say so and the AI would adapt.

This is such a refreshing direction. 👏 The idea of optimizing for understanding instead of engagement really resonates — social media today often rewards noise over value. I love the “no followers, no feeds” concept; routing info based on need feels like what social should’ve been from the start. Subscribed to the waitlist — curious to see how your AI matches intent with relevance!

Thanks so much! "what social should've been from the start" was almost the headline I wanted to put at first. It really feels like people just want to share cool stuff, especially when you see the early versions of the social medias: the blogs. You could basically share anything. So having this common knowledge, but that still help people not feel overstimulated would make a difference.
