Relaunched my first product, QRcode, after years on the shelf
QRcode is a QR/barcode scanner and generator for Android, and it's the first product under my new
company, Technoitic. The app itself isn't new - it launched back in 2020 and ran quietly for years
until Google delisted it for targeting an outdated API level (a routine compliance requirement, not
a quality or policy issue - just an easy thing for an unmaintained side project to fall behind on).
I rebuilt it from scratch this year (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, the works) rather than patch the old
codebase, added a Pro unlock (one-time purchase, not a subscription) for custom QR styling and
unlimited history, and relaunched it properly.
Currently focused on organic growth - SEO content, ASO, this kind of launch push - before
considering any paid acquisition. Happy to share specifics on what's worked/not worked as I go.
Interesting that you're bringing back an older product rather than starting from zero. Curious whether the relaunch is attracting mostly existing users or entirely new ones.
