Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I built RendrFlow, an AI image upscaler for Android that runs entirely on-device no cloud processing, no external APIs, and zero ongoing server costs.
Most image upscaling tools depend heavily on cloud infrastructure. That means slower performance, privacy concerns, and scaling costs that grow with users. I wanted to flip that model completely.
So I built RendrFlow to process everything locally using optimized AI models. The result:
⚡ Instant upscaling (no waiting for uploads/downloads)
🔒 Full privacy (images never leave the device)
💸 No backend or API costs (fully scalable as a solo project)
The app supports multiple performance modes (CPU, GPU, GPU Burst) so it can adapt to different devices, and allows users to upscale images up to high resolutions while preserving detail.
From a builder’s perspective, what makes this exciting is the distribution model:
No server bills
No rate limits
No infra headaches
Truly global scaling from day one
It’s been a great experiment in pushing AI workloads to the edge instead of the cloud.
Would love feedback from the community especially from others building lean, no-backend products or working with on-device AI.
