Replacing common services with Indie Hacker alternatives

Hi everyone!

Happy… Tuesday to you? Lost track of the days… yes happy Tuesday!

I’ve recently been ripping out Google Analytics from all my sites and replacing them with Plausible.io.

Why?

Well I want to support Indie Hackers of course!

Aguante corps just feel icky these days, and Plausible is frankly just better for my needs with its privacy focus.

But it got me thinking, what other services could I replace with Indie Hacker run alternatives?

So here’s my list (with the service it would replace in brackets)

Have you got any ideas, favourites, or pointers? Maybe you could build one!

  1. Plausible (GA)
  2. Uptime monitoring (Pingdom)
  3. Git push PHP and Node hosting (Heroku)
  4. Git push Node to Static site (Netlify)
  5. Email Broadcast (GDPR/CCPA compliant SendInBlue or Mailchimp)
  6. Business Insurance
  7. Business Legal services (Writing contract templates or SLAs for Software services etc)

Would also to love to hear about any service types I haven’t thought about.
