Reselling made easy
The problem is finding what to resell for profit. It takes a very long time going through FB marketplace, craigslist free section, Ross or Marshall's inventory, and thrift shops just to find something that makes a profit on eBay. I'd like to have a customer dashboard that tells you to the minute what you should go hunt for, unfortunately these places don't have a free API to access or none that I have found. Eventually, I could go into looking at Walmarts inventory for products that are worth dropshipping.
I think going hunting for specific things in thrift stores and FB is difficult as there's such a range, would be good to have something that shows trending items. To be honest ebay completed listings is good but if the data is there I'd definitely use something like this.
Nice idea, but as you’ve have referenced the data doesn’t currently exist. Consider an alternative approach that could use data that is currently available. Understanding that most people who make a living from reselling operate in specific product categories. Specialization allows them to better understand the market and prevents them spreading themselves too thin. What if you offered them a service that allowed them to enter specific SKUs or keywords for their niche, and it notified them when potential deals exist in their specified area? For example, I tell your system that I resell textbooks and typically like to buy the in the NYC area for less than $10 each. When it sees those items in the list of sites that you cover, and they are at or below my price point, it notifies me.
Hi, yeah this is a good idea, I've used see, spot, bid for this on ebay in the past as found ebay notifactions very slow/poor. Again would be difficult to get data for other sites and stores to allow this.
