Resources for a good-hearted geek to boost the sales skill

Hi, I think I suck in doing even the minimal amount of sales. I’m a good-hearted geek, not a salesman. I don’t have much trouble doing marketing tho, I think only selling is the problem. People follow what I do, they love what I do, but I can't make them buy. Perhaps I’m giving too much for free, perhaps my strategy is wrong, perhaps I'm doing other mistakes, but I think it wouldn't hurt if I learned a bit more about selling before I start changing stuff. I believe one can learn the craftsmanship basics of basically any skill. What would you recommend as good resources to learn at least the most basic sales techniques and strategies? Books, videos… My aim isn’t to be able to “sell a pen” to any living organism passing by, it’s just that I want to understand the basics and avoid the most common mistakes. Also, if the resources could be aimed at good-hearted, analytical geeks, instead of being full of hype and bullshit, that would be super awesome. Thanks!

I'm new here, so my project is still under review. It's only in my local language, but basically so far it's logo-sponsored niche content and a niche job board. The problem is that I've got a few companies to pay for logos, but I suck in rolling up my sleeves and getting more of them involved. When I do, I feel like I'm too naive and agreeable in my communication, and if I knew how to do sales better, I'd be able to close more deals or bigger deals. I also don't think doing sales like this is scalable, but I do thing it's the #1 thing right now to extract some money from the project short term, and get the confidence to explore other ways to monetize it. Thanks for all the tips!
