Resources Needed

Hey all - I am thinking about getting into business with a family member of mine, more of a mentor actually. He owns a couple other construction and real estate development businesses and projects and the new business, which he plans on buying and assigning me to run, is a foundations business.

The current owner is very old and has been around in the game for 30 plus years but is retiring and as of the last couple years his sons have been running the day to days. My 'mentor' is looking to buy them out and acquire the business ASAP (next 3 months).

I am wondering if anyone can direct me to some resources, whether online or print, in learning about business acquisitions. I am a rising junior at NYU and no stranger to research but I can't seem to find anything, even after scraping the business schools bookstore course results. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated
