Restrict app use for beta launch?

Heyo hackers!

I recently got my app Topple to the point where users can create accounts and enter some info.

My question is: Should I make it so users have to request me to create their account? Then I would have to issue them login credentials. I'm not sure I want random people creating accounts yet, but I'd like to get some user feedback.
