Hey IndieHackers! I'm excited to share my journey of building and launching Resumeplan.ai, an AI-powered platform that simplifies the resume creation process.

Problem

As someone who's been both a job seeker and a hiring manager, I've witnessed firsthand how painful resume writing can be. People spend hours staring at blank documents, struggling to articulate their experiences effectively. Traditional resume builders are either too rigid or too complicated, and most don't provide meaningful guidance on content.

Solution

Resumeplan.ai approaches resume building differently. Instead of starting with templates or formats, we start with your story. The platform uses AI to:

• Guide you through describing your experiences in a conversational way

• Transform your natural descriptions into professional resume content

• Suggest improvements and optimize for ATS systems

• Generate tailored versions for different job applications

Build Process

I built Resumeplan.ai over four months, working evenings and weekends. Here's the tech stack:

• Frontend: Next.js and Tailwind CSS

• Backend: Node.js with Express

• Database: PostgreSQL
