Rethinking an LTD for my new SaaS!

I have been back and forth on the Lifetime-Deal (LTD) option.
In general, it seems a FOMO market and race to the bottom.
Clearly an unsustainable strategy... though clearly, some are using them as their entire strategy.
My goal is to build a high-riced, high-value SaaS... and LTDs tend to a cheap mass-market pricing point.
But I do have a lower-tier offering that could work... maybe well if I build out a few other features that are planned in the next few weeks.
Could be a dissertation.
Could be a boost.
Could build my confidence... and/or humble me. ;-)
I have it all designed for LTD plans...
... solid infrastructure that can easily scale.
Clear channels and paths for these LTD.
Sometimes not pretty.
I tried one before with Saastronautics... they closed down after 1-week... not telling anyone. Sucky experience.
Self-hosting is my thought.
Love any thoughts?

Can you do it in a way that wouldn't affect longer term business, like offering it with the current feature set only but having a better than published rate to upgrade to a higher tier plan? Or stackable codes to increase features - higher up front payment to average out the total life time value.

Others say that support is sometimes an issue, could you say Ltd is supported via community forum whereas normal plans get email based.

I can structure properly I believe.
Both to offer value and limit my risks longer-term.
      Thx!!
