Revenue-generating no-code products?

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of the no-code space.

My startup LegUp Health is a no-code software-enabled service. It's currently generating $500+ per month, and I expect it will grow to somewhere between $3K to $6K per month to start January 2021. (That is, if our core assumptions hold.)

I notice there are a lot of posts about pre-revenue no-code projects and product MVPs. But I'm having trouble finding other no-coders who have built a software-enabled service or SaaS application that is generating revenue.

What are some revenue-generating no-code products / founders out there that I should be following and learning from?

I'm specifically interested in product/services provided via or enabled by software. (While communities are great application for no-code tools, I'm not so interested in those with this post.)

I created a series of Alexa skills using a VoiceFlow.com. I have a tiny bit of JavaScript in my skills, but its almost completely code free. I am at a little over $2k/month now and expect to be at $3k/month by December/January. Its self-sustaining now, I spend about 30 minutes/month on support and am trying to figure out what to build next.

All of the revenue generated is by monthly subscriptions on about 2% of my users. All my other users are using the free versions of my skills.

Nice side hustle, is it Amazon that pays you?

      1. 1

I give my users the option between a free and paid version of my skills. Amazon handles the payments and takes a percentage.

Cool. And are there specific rules like for example the music/sounds need to be royalty-free, and can you monetize any skill you publish?

          1. 1

Yeah you have to have rights to anything you publish to the skill store. They have a comprehensive list of rules in the developer documentation

Cool thanks, will check that out. How long are you running your side hustle, and after what time did you see success (paying customers)?

              1. 1

I launched in October 2019, first paying customer in November. I made $2 my first month in revenue and had $16 in costs.

This month I'll make $2300 in revenue with $16 in costs.

Very nice. All without any marketing? Do most people find you through your website or through the skills marketplace?

                  1. 1

I paid for a promoted email once. It led to about $60/month more in revenue.

Everything else is organic, almost all from the skills marketplace, I little from my website.

Nice, thanks for the info, seems you're on a roll with this, keep up the good work.

This is awesome, Nate. I had no idea about Voiceflow.com

      Thank you.

        Its a really cool tool!

Looks nice. What is the website built with? Especially the drag and drop UI flow?

      1. 1

I am not certain what voiceflow.com is built with. But it is pretty slick!

saw this post from @Kevcon80 a while back and it seems like there is a dearth of these types of examples in nocode space at the moment.

Thanks Akhil. Very helpful. I'm reading that thread now.

I've created an ecommerce store which generates $400 MRR.

Some makers would be hesitent to classify Shopify as no-code, but if I was to build an alternative using Webflow or Bubble, it would have taken me weeks instead of hours.

Nice job. E-commerce is a great application for no code. It’s not necessarily what I’m looking for in terms of this post (I’m trying to find software / services products), but you’re right. Spotify is def a no-code tool. And it’s a powerful one.

I think MakerHub has a handful amount of Nocode built products :)

I’m running 3 side projects without code but also low tech. Small revenues that I can enjoy good coffee.

Thanks Felix. Which of your 3 products do you think has the most potential? I'd like to follow your updates on that one.

@ricklindquist You're welcome! I love them all :) I usually build in public on https://twitter.com/felix12777

I'm spending most of my time on https://ventureslist.com/ and https://virtualmojito.com/ these days

A lot of the people I know making good money with no-code don't advertise it as no-code. There are some good stories on the Bubble blog, tho.

Thanks. Curious if you can recommend any specific people or product I should check out / follow?

With cancuntour.app I was making 1.5k a month. Pre covid

Ugh. I'm sorry. What are you up to while COVID is destroying Travel?

      1. 2

I run lowcode.agency. Which is good, but MRR is king :(
