Reviews & Ratings as a Service?
Is there is any review and rating service out there? I am thinking to start something in this genre. What I am thinking is to make a service that will allow users to create reviews and ratings for any resource/URL/product/anything with pre-defined yet customizable templates. Moreover, give users a lot of data based on this to make decisions.
Would love to know the feedback on this idea.

I've been working on a review and rating site focused on product warranties - trustfuss.com.
I wanted to solve my own problem with some painful warranties. I couldn't find anything specific to warranty ratings and folks I talked to thought it would be a good idea.
General rating sites include facebook and google ratings that pretty much allow you to rate any business. Then there are a host of specific sites like TripAdvisor does travel, Yelp does mainly restaurants, Glassdoor does jobs, Dealerrater does car dealers etc... So you'd be going up against all of these places... that are super focused on just one slice of ratings...
So while you could definitely make it - the question I would ask is what problem are you solving and for whom?
Cool but my idea is similar to disqus but basically based on ratings/reviews/feedbacks.
A user will come, register, select rating template ( it can be star rating or other types of rating ) and he will have to add some js code on his site to display the ratings on his site.
Similar to what disqus do to commenting system.
Isn't that what https://www.trustpilot.com is doing? The biggest challenge in this field is probably fighting fraud. This gets a bit easier if the system is deeply integrated into the platform (Amazon etc) because you know what the customers verified relationship with the product is already. It also helps to extract insights into the customer behaviour if you don't have it run by an external service.

Interesting concept the question I would have would be what makes me go to your product to look for reviews?
No. A person won't come to my site for reviews. It will be like what disqus is to comments.
