We recently deployed a new iteration of the site: https://specstemplate.com/
Would love to know your feedback :)
Really like the simplicity, nice execution @matt413
I can see the opportunity of expanding to other usual templates. Great work!
Would love to hear your advice on my new website too!
Hey this looks 😍!
A couple quick reactions:
## 🤔 "What's it gonna cost me / what's the catch?"
I was concerned that the app would let me create a document, and then hold it for ransom until I pay.
The FAQ clarifies that that's not the case, but the sooner you reassure visitors the better. So I would consider hero copy along these lines:
"Create and share a beautiful spec in minutes. Totally free."
## What exactly is it for?
This is probably a stupid question, but is the spec document meant to be part of a proposal? Is there a way to add pricing?
(It's probably obvious I've never built a website for a client, apologies if I'm missing the point)
Hi @briandavidhall!
That's super helpful!
## Q1
You're right, the template is free for sharing and for download; the Pro plan only adds more features on top. Will definitely consider tweaking the copy to clarify that.
## Q2
Your questions are totally on point!
This can be used as (or as part of) a proposal. I usually pair a document like this with an official quotation my finance team generates from our accounting software.
It makes sense that many may rather use one document instead of two. Adding pricing to the template is on our to do list too! That's likely to make it live in a few weeks..
It also makes sense that many may not know the exact use case for this. I will look into describing the use cases more explicitly too.
Thanks for taking the time to check out the site and to comment :)
Sweet, glad it was helpful. If you make some updates and want another round of input I'm happy to help 👋
Absolutely! Thank you very much 👋
