Revue teases newsletter sign-up button on Twitter profiles
Revue teased an intriguing integration of the newsletter platform with Twitter. The Mar 9, 2021 issue of their official newsletter The Week in Newsletters said:
PS. Speaking of keeping you updated on Revue, you’ll love to hear this: Last week was Hack Week, and we experimented with a way to add a super easy newsletter sign-up button on Twitter profiles for creators like you. We’ll keep working on that. Stay tuned. 🧡
This could be a game changer. I'm not sure how I feel about it though, it would be cool to have a sign up button even if you don't use Revue (not going to happen obviously).
A workaround for other newsletter platforms is to include the link to the landing page in the website field of the profile or in the bio. In the bio you can skip
httpsto make it stand out, e.g.mynewsletter.com, and it's still clickable.I can't imagine Twitter making a bigger or better move.
It's already the best tool on the web for converting intellectual capital into social capital. But if it rolls this feature out more broadly I think you'll see people investing more in Twitter threads (with email forms at the end) than in landing pages.
Yes, it's a no brainer. And it can raise the awareness of the newsletter medium.
