Roast landing page & idea for our "personal news" email service

Hi IH,

It would just be great to get your feedback about our landing page, and also our product idea, and even our on-boarding if you have time!

https://morningbrief.ai/via/ih

We've been working on it for 6+ months and we think it's pretty great but not very many people have seen it.

Yep, we made the "ye-old classic mistake" of building something before showing it to folks ;)

Love to get your thoughts and feedback.

p.s. Here are 2 examples of custom briefs, you can add any topics you like to your brief:

    Hey 👋

I had a couple of looks at this LP in short succession - my initial thoughts were “ok what’s different about this to say an RSS reader or something like my Feedly app’s feed”. I’d mostly dismissed it as just another custom feed, sorry.

Then I had another look, as it’s got an ai domain (I’m very interested in how IH can use AI to build successful products) and I wanted to know more about how it knows what the “best” articles are.

After another look I’d suggest this section should be at the top of the page. Probably with tweaks and some of the bullet points you have at the top now.

“Morning Brief is the lowest effort way to get insider intelligence for all your interests.”
Using our signal rank technology, we'll bring you the highest signal-to-noise ratio articles across all your topics of interest, every day.

This section clearly articulates why I might be interested in your offer. I’d riff on it more if I was in your shoes.
The current H1 etc suffers slightly from the typical abstract vagaries of a team that’s been working on and thinking about their offer for months (and knows it intimately, inside and out, but they’ve forgotten that everyone outside their team has no clue what makes the offer so great) and as is so common, (almost every LP I look at here on IH does it), the good stuff is buried half way down the page.

This might seem like harsh criticism - it’s not meant to be. Just how I see it. I hope my feedback is helpful. Take it or leave it of course but I’d like to see the LP sell me on WHY I’d want to use this, why is it better than the alternatives. Is it saving me time, reducing distractions, keeping me up to date without the clickbaitish articles that are only written for content marketing purposes rather than insightful or enlightening information.. or all that and more?

PS: the examples seem pretty good.
    Nice job👍

      Hey @Shaunau

No it's not harsh it's awesome!

Also, I really appreciate the time that you took to understand the offering beyond the optics.

In reality, Morning Brief is kind of like hiring a full time executive assistant to scour the web and find the important stuff just for you - but somehow that seems like marketing BS so it's difficult to know how to get it across.

The snippet you focused on is a good one.

Also we have this detailed feedback from a customer, so maybe that should go on there somehow:

"My role is very technical focused. As such I need to be aware of the latest movements in multiple areas such as AWS, Go, C#, Java, Rust, Serverless, Azure and other topics. I also want to know about the latest developments in CPU's, databases, scalability and AI/ML. This allows me to fulfil my role to customers I am working for.

Morning brief has saved me hours of time by collecting all this information replacing my need to scan multiple RSS feeds, trawl reddit or scroll through my twitter timeline. I consider it a subreddit in a newsletter specifically tailored for me.

Most recently I have been able to drop developments in AWS, or scalability movements, trends in AI/ML (specifically regarding AWS) into sales and other meetings helping build trust, which is one of the most important parts of the process. When it comes to being on the job, being aware of industry movements, when asked about it allows me to have at least an initial opinion with the ability to know where to go to find more information.

Morning brief helps with both by cutting down the time I previously spent looking for this information, and just feeding it to me directly."

There’s some gold in that quote for sure. Using some of that would be a good idea without a doubt.

I reckon with LPs you can spend forever rewriting and refining them and at the end of the day when someone visits they’re probably somewhat unique in their needs and their personal context. I guess what I’m saying is don’t sweat it too much, it’ll convert some and not others, warm, cold or indifferent audiences will all see it differently.

The product looks solid, now it’s just time and eyeballs that are needed!
        👍
