I am really happy to write my first post here as an new IndieHacker! Hope you will enjoy it ;)
As most of people, I had to look for jobs since few years ago and honestly it was a big pain for me (outch)... Did you go through it too?
I used to have a spreadsheet where I save infos about almost every job I applied for and that was a mess. You know, when you have to make different resumes and cover letters and you get instantly confused when a HR reaches you out...(outch x2)... Do you remember it?
So, I decided to make TucanJob, a free tool for anyone having hard time organizing their job hunt.
PS : The tool is working properly only on laptops.

I’ve definitely felt the “spreadsheet chaos” pain — especially when you’re tailoring resumes/cover letters per role.
A couple ideas that might make TucanJob stick:
Also: you might consider adding a quick resume-quality check step (ATS/readability/role fit) alongside the tracker. I’m building “Easy AI Resume” (link is on my IH profile) in that space — happy to compare notes on what job seekers actually find most useful.
I wonder what sub-niche this would interest more, where are hiring processes longer and you'd have a high number of them in parallel
Like I admit I'd have a few and sometimes I forget a bit in-between, but I might as well just put a note in my next calendar invite... or a single paragraph doc somewhere.
Honestly it looks like a dedicated Trelo board
with too much information
and the subject matter doesn't seem mapped out good enough, due I don't have a plan myself currently. For example, steps are not consistent across companies...
I might have found some interest of something like that if it integrated with an email, so the board auto-updates when applications sent, rejected, got an invite/scheduled the next step.
I'm probably not the target for this.
The design needs a color pallet choice or at least the yellow calendar button and "create new board" button... (why would I have more than one board if I'm an applicant?..)
I think targets might be like students/early career, high achievers going for specific companies like FANG+ or maybe high lvl ppl...
But again I wonder why most wouldn't just use Trello, I'm not sure the dedicated fields and LP are that much of a value add

I believe that the audience would be, as you said also, students/early career applying for many jobs and haven't experience managing their job hunt.
The first aim of making this tool was to gather all the information needed, in one place, so the user doesn't need to spread them between docs, sheets, emails, resumes, which sometimes leads to errors.
It is similar somehow to trello, but the difference is that tucanjob offers a framework for job hunting which simplifies the process of managing it (aka, the pop-ups when you click on a job application card). And as you mention it, automating some actions would add more value to it.
Regarding the steps which are not consistent between companies, the functionality of milestones are made specifically for that matter. So you can add as much as you want steps. Please let me know if I'm not sufficiently clear, so I can explain it better.
Automating the workflow is something I'm thinking about seriously, I need to see if it is possible with bubble.io, but I will work on it definitely!
By LP, do you mean landing page? What do you think would be great?
