Recently launched my LetterNerd, a side project. It's a AI letter generator to craft personalized letters to loved ones. Please give a review on them website landing page or maybe workflow too. Thanks.
Don't make the top menu floating. If you do, add some background behind, otherwise it will overlap with the content.
Add a max-width to the hero section, on a 4k screen it's too big.
You could open the letters in a modal on the same page.
Thank you, Cristian. I will work on the recommendations.
Hey there! So, I just paid a visit to your website, and I have to say, the whole experience left me scratching my head. I went ahead and requested an email, but instead of getting the prompt I expected, I was greeted with a rather confusing message: "Refresh this page in 20 seconds to get your letter or check your Email." Now, let me tell you, that's not exactly what I'd call a smooth user experience.
I mean, seriously, who wants to sit around and wait for 20 seconds just to receive an email? Time is precious, and people want things instantaneously. That kind of delay is enough to make users want to pull their hair out. And to make matters worse, you didn't even provide a clear indication of where to check our email. It's like you're playing a hide-and-seek game with your users, and nobody wants to play that when they're trying to get things done. This definitely needs some ux optimization.
Let's be real here: user experience is crucial, and it's the little details that can make or break a website.
Thank you Max for your review. I will make changes to the user experience. This is more like the v1. The letter was supposed to be sent to your email instantly, but it takes a few more seconds to be posted on the website.
Having personal letters accessible to everyone can be really annoying. To combat this, you should consider implementing privacy settings or options for users to decide whether they want the messages they create to be public or private. Make sure users keep their personal messages private.

Was going to mention this. 100% provide optionality here to have it public or private.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will add that to the website.
Most welcome... I would be happy with that. See more here: https://theshadowapk.com/
the only unsettling thing is that all the generated letters are public
I will make changes to that.
Pagination or lazy loading for the letter list would be a good UX tip. May also be worthwhile having a search bar to find letters by tags or keywords as sometimes maybe users won't need to generate new letters, but can get inspiration from existing ones.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will implement that.
Looks good. But maybe the letter cards can show up dynamically depending on what options the user select
The animated gifs give a nice 90s vibes 👌
Looks good to me! I would maybe change the images on the top right side that look a bit lower quality. But simple is great :)
You could add some padding and margins a bit everywhere and play around with two different matching fonts. This could do a lot.
Tried asking ChatGPT to act as a web designer and add appropriate paddings/margins to your design/code? If you are using TailwindCSS this can work, it knows most CSS libraries.
it would be awesome to add some background on the navbar, because after scrolling down it links get mixed with page content
also are these letters paginated or it will be infinite list of entries? 😃
EDIT: also it would be nice to have CREATE LETTER section stick to top on the window while scrolling through other letters :)
Thank you! I will work on that too and the Nav bar. For the letters on the homepage, I only display the most recent 15 letters. Maybe I will create a letter page where all letters can be displayed.
I left some comments here - https://visualdebug.com/show/letternerd.com
Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely implement those.
I think you can work on the color and skip those emojis. Also share some benefits of this tool.
Hey Joy,
Michael here from Lightning UX. I’ve seen that you’ve gotten feedback on general UI for the page so I won’t rehash that too much. My main comments there would be that the styling is quite a light-touch at the moment, which leads to some elements of the page feeling misaligned and therefore as a user I feel less trust that the company behind it is going to properly handle my data. I’m not saying you won’t, but that’s the impression styling like that can give.
I would recommend:
Hope that helps, and I’m happy to discuss/help you redesign if you’re keen!
Michael
Thank you, Michael! I really appreciate the feedback. I am working on the V2 already and I will implement your recommendations. The plan is to add a pro version where users can choose templates they want and letters will be private.
You're welcome! Best of luck with V2!
