Roast my Idea 🧯 (I will give my thoughts on yours)

Hello Fellow Hackers.

Is anybody in the mood of giving a critique?

πŸ’‘IDEA: help remote companies with team culture. All within Slack.
http://billisfun.com/

So far I have only 2 users. I focus on companies that have 50 or less people and sell directly to CEOs. The response rate is extremely low. Some of them said that the email copy was great, but not much excited about the idea.

Am I missing something?

Please share your thoughts and feel free to share what you're working on.
I'm happy to give feedback.

Hey, the page looks great. The problem you are trying to solve is exciting.

The specific solution shown on the LP is less exciting. Your solution sounds like a bot that is going to randomly ask questions and keep score. This could be fun for a couple of weeks but once the gimmick wears off I feel like it would be mostly ignored, especially when it runs out of questions? You're also adding extra 'culture process' overhead "hey Jim you haven't responded to Bill the Slack App, how are we meant to grow culture if you don't reply??"

Culture can be really ambiguous and to quantify it as just answering some bot questions, to me, seems like a bit of a slap in the face for anyone trying to take is serious.

In my mind, you need to double down on either culture or on fun for the value proposition. If you are set on tackling the culture problem I think you need to add on to the value in some other way. If CEOs are customers then CEOs need reports of how their culture is doing. Maybe a report to see how engaged remote workers are in non-work (e.g. #random) slack channels?

Anyway just my two cents, good luck with it

It's a good idea, but it's not a "must-have". I think it's too expensive in comparison to the proposed solution. Maybe you should charge for each user as slack? Then it would be more affordable. It would be best if you thought more about how you can help with building organizational culture. Knowing fun facts about teammates is not enough. Maybe Bill should also ask about company values, habits, or rules.

I'm working on https://undersend.com I will appreciate any feedback.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

      Here's what I think.
      Your website design is great.

The first sentence that I see is "Make more customers sending personalized email messages at the right time". I think it's a bit confusing. I thought you want to make your customers send you emails, I don't think it's the case with your product. One idea just to add "by". Like this: "Make more customers by sending personalized email messages at the right time". Otherwise you can try to make this sentence shorter.

Besides that I love what you're doing. Do you have customers? Who is your target audience? Maybe it's worth making it clear. Is it for devs?

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

We just finished the MVP, so we don't have any customers yet. We assumed that our target is small/medium SASS products, indie hackers. Now it's time to validate it.

I think you spend too much time explaining what could be explained in a single sentence (on a landing page):

"Get 1 random, fun question to your Slack channel once a day"
    or something like that...
and then you can explain the benefits of team culture etc.
