Roast my idea please: I want to build a tool for indie hackers to create professional explainer videos easily. Is it a bad idea?

Hey indie hackers, please roast my side project idea. 🙏👇

Do you ever have trouble making an explainer video for your side project? Like suddenly forgetting what you want to say and displaying next, so you have to stop recording and start all over again? Feel trouble editing your recorded video, like cutting off unwanted parts, magnifying key details, removing background noise, adding some visual and sound effects in your screen recording, etc.?

To help indie hackers make a beautiful explainer video smoothly like a pro and without any design skills required, I want to build a one-stop tool with all the features needed to get this work done with simple clicks, as well as export your edited video in any preferred size you need to post on social media platforms, send via emails, or add to your landing page.

What do you think of this idea? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Or, do you know or use a great tool to accomplish this already? What is it? What do you like most about it?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.🙇‍♀️

Not a bad idea for sure. There are some players doing well.

Thank you Upen for your nice words! Yeah, there are great players already, so I'm thinking if the target users still need my product.

Sound like a great idea, did you conduct market research? did you find competitors?

Creating a tool for indie hackers to easily create professional explainer videos is not necessarily a bad idea. There is a demand for user-friendly video creation tools, and catering to the needs of indie hackers can be a viable market. However, the success of your tool would depend on factors such as the competition in the market, the features and quality of your tool, and your ability to effectively reach and engage your target audience. Conducting market research and validating the demand for such a tool would be beneficial before proceeding further.
