Roast my landing page built entirely on Notion V2 🔥

About a month ago, I built this webpage all on Notion. It's for my agency. I thought it was such a clever and novel idea that I didn't realize how much it sucked as an actual website.

Somehow I thought that it being in Notion is going to forgive the diarrhea of incoherent sections, way too much text and very little color 🤦‍♂️

Thankfully, I tracked link clicks with Rebrandly. Soon enough, I realized that this is not converting at all. For 5,129 visitors, I got only two legitimate inquiries (and none closed) 💩

I knew that I had to change this but some kind of pride blocker or accomplishment bias always made me to push this task of for a long long time. Finally, I got my act together two days before Notion is going to officially feature this in their marketing 😳

I was lucky to get lot of feedback from all kinds of helpful folks (including Chris Messina who was incredible). Thanks IndieHackers, Pioneer, Makerlog, Makerpad, No Code Founders and WIP.chat 💯

I just did a complete overhaulplease, please let me know what you think!

Disclaimers:

  • mobile still sucks so bad idk what to do about it
  • i'm going to use a hosting solution
  • i'm going to have a custom domain and speed

    Hi, looking good.
I find the numbers (1,2,3) way to big, maybe half them in size and give them a background like the icons above
Still, hosting an entire page on Notion itself comes with pain. Its extremely slow, SEO is horrible.

Do you have any technology background?
We've build a React renderer for Notion + published a simplified API.

Also the Blog were the article is, is done using this technology!

Hi! Thank you for your thoughts. Yep — I'm going to address the speed and SEO with one of the following:

Have not figured out which one yet!

I don't have a tech background. What you sent me is pretty so awesome, so seems like its similar to those offering but DIY kinda way?

Oh, cool. I didn't realise you could do forms on Notion, is ChilliPepper the only way to do this?

Thanks! No, actually you can embed anything you want. Chilipepper (beta) is just a tool that adopted the Notion esthetic very well :) The maker and myself are Notion Pros (ambassadors).

    Hey Temirlan!

    Cool concept!

I do think you could reign it back a bit though. It feels a bit overwhelming at times.

Hey Magic! Thanks for your thoughts. Are you feeling overwhelmed from seeing the first version or the later (new) ones?

        Hey there,

Ahh, yes I was looking at the old version.

The new version is MUCH better!

I do think that some of these secondary pages are still a bit hard to parse though

      2. I think that could be good for the testimonial section
      3. 💯
      4. Yeah I think so
      5. That's like helping with new stuff in a business or organization
      6. That's discussed on the projects (link at the bottom) if they person is interested in digging around further. I guess I'm optimizing to start a conversation!
