Hey indie hackers, I've just launched Gemoo Snap 2.0 and shipped a landing page of it.
However, I'm wondering if It's information overload. I want to keep it simple however there are many features I'd like to share with visitors.
Mind roasting us?

Would love any feedback!ππββοΈ
BTW, we're launching on Product Hunt todayπ, and really need your support and feedback there as well! Thank you! πππ

Thank you Bradley for the detailed and professional suggestions on the page design! Would be very love to work with you if there's a chance to create landing pages for future products. :)
No problem! Feel free to reach out any time, it would be a pleasure to work with you.
it's weak try something like this;
h1: Screenshots Designed For Sharing
p: Join 500 influencers taking head-turningly beautiful screenshots, ready to post in under 5 seconds!
^^^ something like that. you need some good marketing language and showcase the benefits of your tool.
I have a 60% conversion rate on my website explodingideas.co if you want to look at that for reference.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! Will definitely reconsider my copy on the landing page. π
can you look at my website too? can i dm you?
genius
Far, far, far too information dense. Most readers will skip over anything more than two lines at a reasonable screen size. Consider simplifying your feature list and being way more brief in your descriptions. You don't have to explain every feature in detail, pick out your USP's and list the rest with just a list of descriptive feature names.
From a design standpoint, you've clearly put time into the individual graphics, but you've lost the forest for the trees, so to speak. Take the header for example, the visual pieces you want to be seen are the screenshots of the product, but you're using bright colors on the ancillary graphics to either side of them. They completely drown out the main imagery and draw my eye away from what's important.
The features section graphics are way to complex for their scale and number. Each one should give me a quick sense of what the feature is about, but they're too intricate for me to quickly skim. You've done a smart thing with using pseudo screenshots with a simplified UI but the level of fidelity is more appropriate for a half-page width image in a small list, not a 3x3 grid. There are also a large number of aggressive colors vying for my attention, which is making it hard to navigate the information comfortably. EG, your feature titles being the same bold green color as your CTA at the bottom of the page.
Overall, I would recommend taking a step back and thinking about the information & visual hierarchy. The good news is that it just means you need to pull back some of the work and not add much.
Thank you so much Connor for taking the time to write down such detailed and professional advice, and celebrating them clearly. I really do! It seems that I want to deliver too much on the landing page, but it's finally hard for readers to quickly understand the USP's, either from the text or the graphic. I'll seriously take your suggestions into consideration and make the improvement asap.
I'm so grateful for your honest feedback! π
Landing page update: I've removed the intro animation from the landing page. Thank you guys for your genuine feedback and thoughtful suggestions! Really really appreciate it! π
I wouldn't do the animation before page load personally. You want users to get to your content as quick as possible. Plus not sure how you are being penalized via Google lighthouse metrics and SEO because of it.
Yes, I now would remove it as well. Oh boy, the SEO thing, didn't think of it before. That's a big mistake for me. Thanks for pointing out David!
Animation before page loading is something you might want to rethink. Might not be good for many reasons like FID, CLS, LCP (see Core Web Vitals for more info)
Another factor might be user engagement. I would like to post link to image that explains it but can't do that yet. Instead google: Why You Should Care About Google PageSpeed Insights and check time frames that google assigned to metrics I mentioned above.
Point is: it might feel like a loader in some sense and this take time.
Thank you StasYu! Yes, the animation is not OK, and I'm removing it. I'll google the article you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!
Nice and organized. I like the hover transition to more info on the different image squares.
recommendations:
change the sentence"The just right screen capture tool" to something with more confidence like "Your all-in-one screen capture tool". "just right" sounds like you are underselling it, and it just does the job. like winning a game by 1 point, just making the cut.
add spacing between the "Free Download" and "Add to Chrome". They are too close together which is not pleasing to the eye and harder for ease of use when clicking
Best wishes with Gemoo!
Yeah, you're right Kyle, I need to modify the headline sentence to a more confident and concise version. I've just missed the spacing issue between the buttons until you pointed it out. THANK YOU!
Hi Mogan,
When I first clicked your website I wasn't sure what was happening, the intro animation just confused me.
I agree the number of features is a bit of information overload. For me a lot of the features weren't that interesting/useful, but the Text Copy with OCR
is really nice!
For some of the features I wasn't sure exactly what the feature was doing. I liked how you displayed the Image Feedback feature, it made it clear what the original screen was, what the screenshot was, and what you were adding on top of the screenshot. I think it would be good to modify some of the other feature images so that it was clearer what the feature is.
Hope that helps! :)
Thank you for your input rosmine! Yeah, the intro animation is another mistake, I'm about to remove it today. Showing real screenshot of the UI, got it! Also, so glad you like the OCR feature.
I didn't quite understand the value prop from the headline.
Maybe something like:
"Screenshot in X different ways to fit social, instructions, and more"
Actually, you are not the only person to raise this issue, and I think I made a big mistake here. Thank you for your suggestion, I much appreciate it and will modify my headline as soon as possible to make it more concise.
Okay WOW is this thing cool. The value prop I'm getting from that page, the ones that hit me where I live, are that it can auto-scale for the most common social media post formats and that I can mark up the snap without saving to desktop and cropping or dropping it into gimp or photoshop (or uploading to canva) to throw some text on it or scale it or anything else. There is no second step because you are daisy-chaining the next most common actions that happen after a screenshot. That in itself is an interesting product development framework to apply elsewhere - like pick a tool or thing you do that you always follow with another step and merge them... back to the app though...
Given this is whats happening here, your H1 Header says:
"The just right screen capture tool"
and thats not correct, it's much more like:
"The all-in-one screen capture tool that saves you time and steps"
then throw a sentence under that that says:
"With Gemoo Snap you can snapshot or record your screen, crop to any size including common social media sizes, mark-up, and customize without ever opening a second app"
Use this sentence to replace:
"One free and lightweight app for taking quick screenshots that you just need. Don't ever get confused with functionalities you will never use."
Farther down the page stress that a screen shot isn't a finished product and you have to normally alter it for it to be useful but why do all that in two or three apps when you can do it with one. Point out that its great for Sales teams, Marketers, and social media managers who need speed, power, and simplicity for these tedious tasks.
Thank you so much for your detailed explanation, Dean! Really appreciate it!
I have to say, you really get the real value prop I'm trying to deliver, and yes, your rewritten headline title and sentence express it much more clearly than mine. Will modify the headline asap.
Thank you again for your thoughtful input!
your landing page is simple. I love it. the only problem is that i could not understand the value proposition correctly. this landing does not answer the following questions:
Got it! Seems like we focused too much on the use cases Gemoo Snap can cover, but didn't answer the core questions you mentioned on the landing page. Will fix this problem. Thank you for your input!
BTW, to answer your questions:
What do you think of it? (Now it's product idea validation, haha)
that is really cool. i like it. thank you for explanations
Glad you like it.π€
Congrats! Looks great and well thought-out landing page!
I've added some copy suggestions here - https://visualdebug.com/show/gemoo.com
Great work
Thank you so much Stan for your thoughtful copy suggestions! The rewritten copy is very clear and informative!
BTW, great tool for giving feedback visually!
Happy to hear that!
Hi,
My two cents for what looks to be a great tool.
Remove product hunt pop-up now that you launched. Make the product hunt logo on the site transparent background.
More generally, I am a bit c confused what gemoo does, and what is the role of the screenshot part. Maybe something like "replaces loom & xx & xx" Canva for screenshots
Or some 'versus type comparison gemoo screenshot vs Microsoft snipping tool?
This said, a feature I believe would be great if to add the 3d type " bending" of screenshots the way brandbird does so beautifully.
Hope that helps!
Thank you for your genuine feedback ToPe. Will definitely take your suggestions into feedback. As for the 3D effect feature, we'll add it to our roadmap of Gemoo Snap. Really appreciate it!
I don't think that's too much information (the blurred nipples on Michelangelo's David made me chuckle), but one -stupid- thing I don't like is the icon used for the mobile menu. A simple hamburger icon would be better imo
Haha, I chuckled too when the designer showed it to me. For the mobile menu, yes, we didn't make it well. Would optimize the icon soon. Thank you for pointing it out!
Hello, Congratulations on launching Gemoo Snap 2.0! π
I took a look at your landing page and I think it's well-designed and informative. However, I do have some suggestions on how you can improve it based on some landing page best practices:
No 1. Keep your landing page simple: You have a lot of text and images on your page, which can be overwhelming for visitors. Try to reduce the amount of content and focus on the most important benefits and features of your product. Use bullet points, headings, and white space to make your page easier to scan.
No 2. Show your customers that you can be trusted: You have some testimonials and logos of your clients, which is great. But you can also add some social proof elements, such as ratings, reviews, awards, or certifications. This can help you build credibility and trust with your visitors.
No 3. Optimize your CTAs: You have multiple CTAs on your page, which can confuse visitors and dilute your message. Try to have one clear and consistent CTA throughout your page that tells visitors what you want them to do next. Use contrasting colors, large fonts, and action-oriented words to make your CTA stand out.
No 4. Make your landing page engaging: You have some nice screenshots and videos of your product, which is good. But you can also add some interactive elements, such as animations, hover effects, or quizzes. This can help you capture visitors' attention and interest.
I hope these suggestions are helpful to you. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback. blush
Thank you very much for taking the time to browse the landing page and provide thoughtful and detailed feedback. I'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration.π
