Roast my landing page
Hey,
I've been staring at the project I'm working on for way too long, and have kinda lost the ability to objectively judge it.
I need some fresh eyes.
Please check out Fiddy, and point out the flaws, what bugs you, anything I could change, new ideas, etc. Not technically a landing page, I know, but it's pretty close.
I'm planning to launch on Product Hunt soon, so any help would be invaluable!

Hmm okay, here's some feedback:
Is the loading time really slow or is it from my end?
It's built on Firebase, so loading times are a bit slow depending on the region you are in.
How many seconds would you say did it load?
Curious what server you're on. I'm west coast USA - The loading times weren't bad for me but noticeable. I've never had this issue with Firestore, are you using RTDB?
I am in the EMEA region and it took almost 5 minutes and still didn't load completely. I had to abandon it.

It's too crowded - you should have a primary CTA at the top to subscribe and people can scroll down for content.

Honestly I like the very first version when you started.
Now it looks like a hybrid of Twitter of Product Hunt, I feel less excited about the website.
I love the design, Hessel. It's really clean and well done. I know this is a roast thread - but some nice things can still be said :)
I am seeing a scrollbar within a scrollbar which is confusing for the left panel, that's something you could fix. Also I have a hard time making out what this website is for and why I should come back. I scan the page from left to right, so first I'm trying to understand the left bar and then I see the right.
I agree with the rest of the feedback.
The only thing I didn't see in the comments is the display of the site. Oldschool 1920*1080 monitor here, but the white strokes on the sides could be a bit smaller. The content in the middle feels cramped up.

Stream of consciousness... Clicked, saw projects, one of them in Product Hunt.... Thought "is this product hunt?" Saw other projects... Thought... This is a list of trending projects but I don't know what to do....

Hi Hessel, just took a quick look at the page.
My first impression is that it doesn't really look like a landing page, and it's very hard to understand what is it about without having to really dig into it... which is one of the top most important things to avoid in any landing page. This looks more like a logged-in view where the users are very familiar with the platform already. I think it lacks a nice title and a small explainer text so the user understand what they are supposed to find.
Take a look at the logged out version of IH for example, they clearly mention this bit on the top right corner:
Welcome! We're helping each other start profitable online businesses and side projects.
Design wise, it's simple, modern, and I'd say easy to navigate once again, you know what you are looking for.
