Roast my landing page (Design Frens)

https://www.designfrens.com/

Hey folks, I recently published the pre-launch landing page for my side project (Design Frens), and LOVE to hear any feedback from you guys.

Design Frens is on a mission to connect companies to highly-qualified designers and simplify the design hiring process.

I think the benefits offered and the images don't add that much to the site. I'm seeing marketing language that is vague and doesn't describe what unique benefits the product offers.

For example: "Save time skipping your initial interview round by learning and discovering profound information about designer's personality, mental mindset and professional skills in their profile."

How does it do that? What special things does it offer to allow this? I could say the same about Linkedin or any other site where potential post their info. This is the issue with using vague marketing language; I can apply it to other products, and your product will be interchangeable.

This goes the same for the other descriptions you have like "frictionless design hiring" (how?) and "uncover insightful information" (how?).

Also, the "apply as designer" button is way too bright in color. I would have it as a darker color to contrast with the background.

I think you could write much better descriptions by using AI (but you'd need to give it some info first).

I'm currently developing an AI API and we're hosting BLOOM (GPT-3 alternative but cheaper) and it's great at generating descriptions. We'll also be hosting Stable Diffusion for image generation.

Once we release, I'd love to get some feedback on the website if you have the time, and I think the AI would be great a writing descriptions for you.

You can follow my twitter for more info and release dates: https://twitter.com/therealetch

    Good luck on your product!

Seems preety solid! Going to take some ideas from there and add to mine that I recently launched www.getmangoo.com a simple google analytics alternative that is privacy first we are GDPR compliant and no need for cookie banners! Thanks

I think the over the fold area looks visually pleasing. It's not blowing me away, but it's pleasant to look at.

There is no incentive for anyone to click to get the early access. When something is not ready, the user has the incentive to wait (and then forget about your thing). If you want people to signup before something is ready, you would want to offer an incentive to do so. Now there is none.

The main area looks clean and simple. Again, nothing amazing but it's alright.

"The pricing of Design Frens hasn't been determined yet and will get clarified within the launch." - That is making me not want to sign up. I would be in your core target audience as I hire designers on freelancer basis all the time, but nothing that you say in your landing page so far is convincing me that you would offer me anything that would make me want to change over to use your service.

Your privacy policy contains empty placeholders and doesn't tell me who exactly are you and where are you established.

Thanks for your deep thoughtful feedback, and wow didn't expect someone to look at the privacy policy yet (:D)

You're right about incentives, there's definitely room for improvement on that. and also privacy policy isn't done yet, I'm planning to complete it soon.

Do you think I should remove the pricing on FAQ?

Hey @Adineh, I launch Privacyboard a couple weeks ago. It's a SaaS the helps companies become GDPR compliant and we have a free Privacy & Cookie Policies generator.

If it can help you, here's the link: www.privacyboard.co ;)

Hey @Antoinemilkoff - Thank you, love to check it out

Do you think I should remove the pricing on FAQ?

You should give some indication on the pricing on the website and say how much I would save if I join your waiting list. With those two changes, you are going to convert a lot more.

You should show your design skills. With that landing page, it puts me back because many Indie Hackers could recreate that....

Is super generic, and we like it not but visualscare the first thing vistors notice.

You're right, making the aesthetics more artistic would definitely make it better, but I wanted to start lean and fast as I can, that's why it's not as fancy as it should be.

Thanks for the feedback btw 🙌🏼
