Roast my landing page

Here's a link to my website, Moonpad: https://www.moonpad.io

Looking for feedback on:

A. Copywriting

  • Is it clear what we do?
  • Does the copy say why we are different from existing tools?
  • Is the copy convincing for you to try out the tool if you have your own website?
  • How can I make the copy stronger? Which section should we focus on?

B. Design

  • Does the design look inviting?
  • How can we make the design better?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated ๐Ÿ™

Thank you so much for your time.

The design is superb. Your offering is convincing, I'd like to try it.

About copy, I think it's a bit generic. You should add a bit of agitation of the problem like how tough & painful it is to understand everything in a GA dashboard. Plus, you could also add some fun in there.

Second, it took me a while to figure what's the value I'll get from your product.

I think it's: a focused dashboard that helps me measure & grow traffic. Sounds cool, but if you can communicate the actual benefit i.e. peace of mind and less clutter for busy entrepreneurs, it would be clearer and more in my face. Hope it helps.

Hi @itshassaanali - Thank you for checking out the website.

Really appreciate your feedback on website copy. I think I am doing a poor job communicating the value prop to website visitors.

Will make edits and share the updated copy soon. Thank you so much again.

The product offering is very clear. I also like your logo, it's cute. Not entire sure how "moonpad" as a word relates to statistics or websites, though.

At times, I get the feeling that the design and the desire to look pretty has been put above usability. For example, in the "actionable insights" area, the green background gradient is making the light colored text more challenging to read. With a bit less gradients, this would be more usable. This is especially true with the "get an invite" section, where it's literally painful to read that white text on a light blue to green gradient.

I don't really like the artificial limitation of websites. If I already pay for x amount of page views, why should it matter do these originate from one, two, five or twenty websites? I'm currently using Plausible for privacy friendly website statistics and they don't have such limitation.

Clicking the "contact us" link in the footer just opens up a "Thank you for contacting us.
We will be in touch shortly." page. I didn't even contact you yet. I just wanted to see how I could contact you.

I like your terms and conditions and the privacy policy a lot. One thing that could be made more clear is that where are you exactly established. You mention your company name, but not where you are registered to.

I'd like your features listing to be a bit more specific. For example, if your statistics page is not mobile friendly, that would be a deal breaker for me. Or, if you don't support multiple team members to access the data with some basic level of user control (e.g. who can see what website's data) that would be a deal breaker as well. Now your features listing seems to be mostly just repeating general things you have already said, like how you are privacy focused and so on.

I think all this looks pretty good, but if I'm being honest, I don't see any arguments for me to switch from Plausible to use your product.

@jv16 - thank you so much for sharing such in-depth and meaningful feedback.

      1. Agree on design overshadowing usability. Edited gradients; however, I think there is more work to be done there.

      2. Fair point on website count. From an end-user point of view, this makes sense. The way our backend tech is set-up, it requires a bit of resource every time a website is created. But that is our limitation. It was a tradeoff we made to make sure data analysis is fast and scalable. Will need to explore this more.

      3. The contact us form had a bug. Cleaned it out.

      4. In the Terms of Service, I added we are a Delaware registered C-Corp. based in New York, NY, United States. Thank you for this suggestion.

      5. 100% agree with you that the features section does a poor job of communicating our value proposition. Need to work on this.

I have used Plausible and am a big fan of what they have done. They single-handedly laid the groundwork for privacy-friendly web analytics tools.

On your two deal breakers -
      A. Moonpad stats pages are mobile-friendly :)
      B. You can share individual website accounts with different people. Each website has its own share settings. The shared site can be password protected or shared publicly, and the viewer only has read-only access.

Finally, we need to work on setting up our product differentiation. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs grow traffic with simple but effective features such as...

      i) Funnels: See traffic flow within website pages and see conversion. See this demo page with real data:

Helps with A/B testing copy, design, etc.

ii) Page performance report: User experience and search traffic relies on page performance. We generate performance report for the website's best-performing and worst-performing pages -
      https://www.moonpad.io/share/3f6d3fc5-d28a-41ca-97f3-ac77b38c388d-0x6/page-insights

Helps improve time on site, bounce rate, and search engine ranking

iii) Give other meaningful insights on visitor's language of choice (website should decide on localization vs. not), traffic patterns based on visitor's local time, referral links sending traffic (gives backlink insights)
      https://www.moonpad.io/share/3f6d3fc5-d28a-41ca-97f3-ac77b38c388d-0x6/user-insights

Helps better understand website visitor without invading their privacy.

BTW - I wanted to thank you again for providing such useful feedback. If I can be a bit greedy with your time, please check the live demo page - https://www.moonpad.io/share/3f6d3fc5-d28a-41ca-97f3-ac77b38c388d-0x6?type=demo

I will really appreciate any feedback you have on product design and features ๐Ÿ™

Your visual design is absolutely gorgeous. Like wow gorgeous.

Your copy needs some work. Its hard for me to point out what it is because I make the same mistakes. English is not my first language and sometimes I translate what's in my head literally instead of semantically.

There are also some grammar errors. For example "No one like stalkers" should be "No one likes stalkers".

Hi @moralwil - thank you so much for checking out the website.

Will spend time on the copy. That is great feedback.

Also, appreciate you looking at the copy so minutely to find the grammatical errors.
