Hello dear hackers 👋
I just made a landing page for my 2nd indie product - https://weightless.so
So far it's just the banner section and I want you to set it ablaze 🔥
Don't forget to drop a link to your landing page so that I can return the favor!
Hey, thanks for your feedback on OURS a few days ago. Here are my thoughts on weightless:
Thanks for the feedback, Nidhish! You raise some very good points.
Very minimal, great job!
I just miss a "how does it work".
I don't understand how/if can I use it - my questions are:
And a footer with some legal info would add a bit more of trust:
I'd also work a bit on the logo, I feel like the handwriting style is not really appropriate for this product.
Here's my feedback for https://adopto.it/fix
"Made for product teams" looks like a button and is positioned weirdly. Maybe get rid of it entirely? Or at least, make it less prominent.
Looks like this is a Slack-only tool, right? If so, I would mention it right away, in the H1. Something like this:
You already have similar text in the subtitle under H1. With the above change, you could then get into more details in the subtitle. You have the space to give more information. Use it!
The popups in the left and right bottom corners really don't suit this app. To me these uninvited popups make it feel like those cheap e-commerce website where you have to close at least 5 popups before you get to the page you are looking for :)
The section with 4 cards: "Centralized reporting", "Quality bug reports", etc looks a bit boring. Could you maybe spice it up with some icons or some background illustrations?
Probably the same feedback as above for the "How does it work?" section.
Good luck with this launch!
Thank you! This is super helpful. I see I am not providing enough information for my target audience to see it's for them, and for others to see this is not a good fit for them.
This is mostly for static websites. Technically, it could work with any website but Webflow or similar page builders are not my target audience. I should make this clear.
@mzrnsh I think it conveys what the product is trying to achieve.
Some observations:
Hope it helps!
Can we connect on Twitter/Linkedin? I hope we can add value to each other. My Twitter handle is notifykamalraj
Thank you, Kamal! Very helpful.
😅 Really weird! People on Twitter love the name while everyone on IH either hate it or take for something related to weight loss :D Well, personally I like it because it sounds like "waitlist" and also emphasizes what I want to achieve with this tool - make it very easy to integrate and very unobtrusive.
If things don't go well and I will shut it down, I know who to sell this domain to: some prominent weight loss coach 😇
Totally agree. This is something I am planning but didn't want to wait for it before starting to gather some feedback
Thanks for taking time! Already followed you on Twitter and look forward to witnessing your progress first hand ;)
The page looks clean and nice. I like the idea!
The first thing I thought looking at the logo is that is is some writing tool (or GPT AI writing tool). Also the name can connect to any product - doesn't tells what it actually does.
The copy is clear. I know what the product does in general, but what lacks is some examples, screenshots, graphics or maybe a movie on how it looks like. The form on the right may be an example but is it actually?
The section "Used by": logos should be clickable, so we can check it up.
Then, the page lacks footer - it looks like it supposed to have something on this white footer background but doesn't.
Hope it helps :)
Thank you Tom 🙏
Name & logo:
I created the logo myself. I will get a professional logo once I've validated this product, but I kind of want to keep the name.
Graphics / video
I am thinking something like a quick walk-through video on how to create a static landing page and start collecting emails with my tool. Do you think that's enough, or should it be a polished marketing video? Honestly, I don't want to spend time / money on that right now.
Noted
Yeah, I don't have any legal pages or anything yet. Will add them and link them from footer. And will add the mandatory © mzrnsh | 2022 as well
It does, a lot!
In case you need help with logo design you can use some "AI logo generator tool", a lot of them on the market these days :) And I think that a quick walk-through video will be enough!
I would like to see an example of what it actually is. I actually need something like this for my landing page but no idea if is better than what I am using currently
It is a backend service to process your form submissions. Then it delivers the list of your subscribers to your inbox.
You can see it in action on my personal blog: https://mzrn.sh/2021/11/27/the-freelance-ladder-and-how-to-climb-it/
The form at the very bottom of the page is powered by Weightless. If you sign up, I will get an email with a CSV file that lists you + all other subscribers.
If you want to give it a try, please email me at ih@mzrn.sh and I will be super happy to assist you with the setup.
Communicates the value add crisply!
To me, the logo makes it look like some writing tool 🙈
Thanks!
Well, that's what you get when you make your logos yourself instead of buying at logology.co :D
As a developer yourself, if you start writing a blog, what would make you use or not use my form to collect emails?
It looks great, but I would replace the CTA with an example of how it looks. It confused me that the CTA is the product for a second.
I loved that you are clear about the pricing from the start and it is visible too.
I would add examples of sites that use your product too and maybe add an FAQ section:
Awesome work!
Thank you, Agam 🙏
Looks awesome! Clearly states what it does, and great concept.
Maybe do something with that white bar at the bottom? Would be crazy if you could play a little game in there, like the Google dino hopping game. No idea how difficult that is. But it could also be a nice addon to your waiting list product itself.
Keep it going!
Here is my website:
www.decryptom.com
Would love to hear what you think!
Thanks for taking a look! Yeah, I don't know about a dino 😃 but definitely need to do something about it. For now I am planning to add a footer like on most websites. But as I add features, I will add new sections in between to describe them.
Now, let's take a look at your site..
Is it a personal site? Looks like it. So then the "Get started" button looks confusing. Get started with what? I'd place some text on top, or just change the button itself to be more informative
"Latest Decryptions" So Decryptions is the name of your blog? It might be a cool name but when I am on the home page and I don't know anything about you or your site yet, it's also confusing. Maybe say something like "Check out my blog - Decryptions". But then on the blog page keep using the name casually as people who are there already know what it is.
Wording of your contact form submit button can be improved. "Submit form" >>> "Send message"
Overall very clean design and love the abundance of white space 👍
Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it.
I will address the points you made.
Good luck with everything.
Really like the concept
I'd like to know more about who and how you are delivering on this waitlist
Dont like the name
loophq.com
Thanks Greg! 👋
I primarily built this to scratch my own itch. I have tons of ideas for which I want to launch landing pages.
And as a developer, I use code (instead of no-code) to build these pages. Specifically, I build static sites using Tailwind UI or ready-made HTML templates. And since they are static, I need an external service to add a functioning waitlist form to them.
Also, I have a personal blog (okay, just 3 articles so far!). Not quite a newsletter, but still, if someone enjoys reading wants to be notified when I write a new one, would be nice to let them sign up. I wasn't doing that before. Now I do with Weightless.
🙈 Weird thing.. You are already 2nd person here on IH telling me they don't like it. And on Twitter, everyone seemed to love it 😅
Loop roast coming in with a follow up reply 👇
@gfrag Okay, here we go:
First of all, it looks really solid. Just love the animation with app icons. And once I watched the video, I understood what Loop is about. BUT:
Down in the middle of the page, you have a heading that would be just perfect for the H1:
I don't know, maybe you don't want that. But It's really hard for me to quickly understand the benefits of the yearly plan with what you have right now.
That's all. Again, it looks solid and I like it a lot 👍
To me - the name is BS. At first I thought it was a weight loss site. With an .so TLD compromise, you can land on a much better name I hope.
I'm not so sure about the product itself. Why someone would bother using you for just a form when they can quickly get full landing pages from elsewhere? Even for forms tally.so is pretty amazing.
"Don't let comparing, setting up and learning email marketing tools delay your launch: collect signups now, decide on how to send email later ✌️"
Your pricing model is interesting. Would you happen to know how long people keep waitlisting pages like this? If p90 is ~1 month, charging flat on # of no. of visitors or no. of signups might be a better proposition from user's perspective (my bias).
Thanks for the feedback! 🙏
Good question. I am not going to compete with landing page builders or even Tally / Typeform. This tool is primarily for static sites that are built with code, but then have no server side capabilities to process form submissions and need an external service to do that. Think of Formspree, or Netlify Forms
Yeah, I feared this as well. Need to make it shorter and punchier.
Well, depends on the product. Sometimes there are early access forms that go on for months. But I want make this product work for evergreen forms as well, like newsletter signups. This landing page I just shared is more about waitlists as that's where I am starting.
---
The name. I am probably going to keep it 😃
Seems clear to me! What I am missing is the last bullet point explaining that it will be easy to export/import all emails to any marketing app.
Ah! Good point. Definitely need to add that
Hey mate,
just returning the favor.
Looks clean.
Think linking to the products in your
used bysections would be great, also to see how people put it to use and to increase trust. The form makes total sense and is a good fit for your product.
I think this could be a bit more concrete like 👇
because effortless is subjective. Effortless from your POV or from an objective POV?
or something like that 🤔
Thanks Stefan, this really helpful! 🙏
Good luck with it mate. Seems like a neat tool 🙏
