Hello Indie Hackers!
Six months ago, I launched a SaaS platform for learning Turkish online. I believe this is a promising niche market since there aren't many high-quality solutions available, unlike for other languages.
I started with a basic landing page, but the conversion rates have been quite low—1.43% of visitors sign up, and 20% of those upgrade to a paid subscription.
Before I begin redesigning the landing page and working on improving these conversion rates, I’d really appreciate your honest feedback.
What do you think could be improved? Are there any key elements missing?
Thanks for your help!
One thing people miss with language‑learning apps is that you’re not just selling a subscription—you’re selling a promised outcome. You mention that only 1.43 % of visitors sign up and about 20 % of those upgrade, which suggests most visitors aren’t convinced the app will actually help them learn Turkish or that it’s the right approach. This usually happens when the landing page emphasises the mechanics of the platform rather than the results or social proof. Focusing the hero section on the level of proficiency people can reach and why your approach is more effective for such a niche language than generic tools can address that gap.
