Roast my new game: Number Word Puzzler

I've spent the last couple of months developing a new game that is a play on the puzzle game Wordle. I'd love to get your feedback on what you think of it and how you think I could improve it.

It's a nice looking game that feels mostly polished! Well done on your launch.

Here are some thoughts I had when playing:

    • The category clue (in this case "Film") looks identical to the "Give us a clue" button, even though it isn't a button. I would suggest making it look different, as I clicked it a few times expecting something to happen.
    • The "twist" of the game seems to be about knowing which number each letter is in the alphabet. I was hoping it would be a bit deeper, as once I had figured out the letters given to me at the start, the number aspect was no longer relevant to the game.
    • I found the cell I was guessing in would jump around somewhat unexpectedly. I'm sure there is a method to the madness, but I found myself guessing in the wrong cell a few times.
    • If you want it to catch on like Wordle, make it easily shareable somehow! Wordle became viral because of how fun and easy it is to share your score.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing how it develops!

Thanks for taking the time out to review the game.

All good points, i'll look at ways I can make it more obvious that the "Give us a clue" is a clickable button where the category isn't.

In terms of the number part of the game, i'll see what I can do to switch that up further.

There definitely seems to be some funkiness around the cell selection, particularly on Desktop - I need to try and figure out what is happening there.

Lastly I have sharing options - share to Twitter and share to WhatsApp but maybe I need to make that more obvious ?

I would suggest giving more time for first time users. I was still trying to figure out what I should do and the clock was starting at 10 seconds so I ran out of lives guessing fast before i could really figure it out 😅

Thanks for taking the time out to review the game. I'll have a think about how I could update things to help onboard new players.
